UC Irvine has failed to cover all 4 times at home when the total is 130 to 135 and 3 of the last times they have played off a win, in fact they are 4-12 straight up off a win. The Sooners have won 5 in a row against the Cyclones and 7 straight at home in the series. Oklahoma is 9-2 at home this season and 6-0 ATS at home when the line is +3 to -3 over the last 3 seasons. The Spurs have been nearly unstoppable at home where they are 12-1 on the season and have won by an average of 12.2 points. The Spurs have won their last 3 at home versus Oklahoma City with those wins coming by 8, 27 and 4 points. The Thunder won the season’s first meeting in its house, but I expect San Antonio to have its revenge on its home floor tonight. The Thunder are 4-10-1 ATS in the last 15 meetings in San Antonio. On Friday the free NCAAB Totals play is on the under in the Columbia at Dartmouth game. Rotation numbers 827/828 at 7:00 eastern. This game has several solid totals indicators. Columbia has gone under the total in the following scenarios. Under in 9 of 12 lines games, 12 of 15 the last 3 years vs teams who averages less than 65 points, 13 of 17 with 5 or 6 days rest, 11 of 15 on Friday nights. Dartmouth has played under in 17 of the last 21 vs teams over .500 including all 7 this years, 9 of the last 10 at home when the posted total is 119 or less and 16 of 22 as a home dog of 3 or less the last 15 years. In the series 11 of the last 14 have stayed under the total. The only reason this is a free play and not a unit rated selections is due to the 111 point total that is posted. Just seems a little too low. But for the free play we can take a shot. My money is on the Grizzlies to go into Oklahoma City and at least keep this game within double-digits. Memphis comes into this game off a 100-97 win at home over the Nuggets and a 96-77 beating at Atlanta last night. The Grizzlies have been a very streaky team, and they way they played last night has me thinking they could possibly win this game outright. Oklahoma City has already went into Memphis and beat the Grizzlies twice this season, you can bet Memphis will be looking to return the favor tonight. Anytime you get a good team in a double revenge situation that is getting close to double-digits, you have to jump on it. These are the type of games in which the Grizzlies thrive. Memphis is 18-6 ATS when playing against a top-level team (Win Pct. > 70%) over the last 2 seasons. If you are worried about the Grizzlies playing the second of a back-to-back, don’t be. Memphis is 20-5-1 ATS in their last 26 games playing on 0 days rest. BET THE GRIZZLIES! -Steve Janus

St Peter’s is 22-8 ATS since 1997 on the road when the total is 120 to 129 1/2. St Peter’s is 30-9 ATS since 1997 and 9-2 ATS last 3 years against poor offensive teams scoring less than 64 points per game. Pick: Duke -4
Yesterday we had a similar play but out of the Big Ten with Michigan covering the 4 point spread. This time we are on Duke covering the points. I do not like road favorites in conference games usually, but I think this is a unique spot despite Virginia Tech playing plenty of defense. First of all Duke would like to have a little revenge after losing here last year. Also they need to get the bad taste out of their mouth from their game on Saturday in which they nearly blew a 20 point lead. Mike Krzyzewski was furious and even stated, “To me that was a loss.” His team should be motivated against a Virginia Tech team that plays defense but has serious scoring droughts. To me Tech is just an average team going 3-13-1 ATS in their last 17 vs. winning teams with a win% over .600. Both teams are different than they were last year but Duke clearly has more talent. Look for Seth Curry to regain his shooting touch. -Freddy Wills

Pick: Youngstown State -2.5
Free Play from Doc’s Sports. #523 Take Youngstown State over Illinois Chicago (7 p.m., Thursday) If the Penguins go out and lay an egg on the road then so be it, but I just like this pick. Youngstown State has won three of its last four Horizon league games. They are better at everything when you stack them up against UIC, and I really am struggling to see how this game is much different than the first meeting. Of course Youngstown State will find it hard to replicate another 21-point win over the Flames, but the result should still be a ‘W’ for the road team. UIC has dropped four straight and seven of its last eight. They are a mess. I don’t have a problem laying points away from home with Youngstown, as I feel they are the better squad here. -Doc’s Sports

Off a disappointing performance at UCLA Saturday, expect Colorado to bounce back strong at home where it is 11-1 on the season. The Buffaloes have been dominant on their home floor, winning by an average of 15.0 points. They beat Utah by 40, Washington by 18, Washington State by 11 and Arizona State by 15. Oregon State lost to Washington by 15, Washington State by 5 and Arizona State by 10. Pick: Indiana State -5.5
The Drake Bulldogs pulled off a huge upset on Saturday by knocking off Wichita State 93-86 in triple overtime. To give you an idea of how big a win that was, the Bulldogs were 9-point underdogs on their home floor. I think it will be extremely hard for Drake to bounce back with another big effort on the road against Indiana State, who comes into this game off a couple of nice upset wins of their own against Northern Iowa at home and at Evansville. A lot of people will look at Drake’s 79-64 win at home over Indiana State earlier this season, and quickly take the 5.5-points, but the Bulldogs are not the same team on the road. They are just 3-7 away from home this season. Another thing to take into consideration is the Bulldogs win over the Sycamores was their first in the last five meetings between these two schools. The last two times they visited Indiana State they were beat by double-digits, and that’s exactly what I expect to happen tonight. Indiana State is 12-5 ATS in their last 17 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400, and 23-10 ATS as a home favorite of 3.5 to 6 points since 1997. Drake on the other hand is just 3-11 ATS in road games after 1 or more consecutive wins over the last 2 seasons and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Buffalo has been on-fire, winning and covering 4 straight. The Bulls have a big, strong front line that are giving opponents nightmares. McCrea, Watt, and Robinson are very physical. Throw in Guard, Filzen, and the squad can also beat you with finesse. Jarrod Oldham is directing the attack with poise and unselfish play. Ball State has dropped their L2 and is now 1-7 SU vs. MAC East opponents. Outside of Jarrod Jones, the cards lack explosiveness. The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the worst road teams in the league. They should be catching a lot more points Sunday, but instead it’s basically a pick ‘em. I’ll gladly side with the home favorite because of it. The Lakers are 1-7 on the road this season. It’s seriously embarrassing to watch them away from home because they play so bad. L.A. is only scoring 89.6 points/game on the road behind 42.6 percent shooting. The Lakers are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games as a road underdog. The Lakers are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Timberwolves are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 Sunday games. Minnesota is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 vs. Western Conference. Bet the Timberwolves Sunday. -Jack Jones

Georgia Tech has lost 8 of 9 but North Carolina isn’t about to show any mercy. The Yellow Jackets have managed to win 4 in a row in this series, and that’s not sitting well with the Tar Heels. Tech is really struggling and a 25-point loss to Alabama and a 32-point loss to Virginia this month clue us in that this one could get ugly in a hurry. The Heels are 13-0 at home where they are winning by an average of 25.8 points. Revenge has been a solid angle to play when dealing with the Wildcats, who are 12-4 ATS in home games when out to avenge a loss to an opponent under the watch of Frank Martin. Wichita State is locked in a battle for first place in the MVC with Creighton. They are a stellar road team this season and 18-3 overall. The Phoenix Suns should not be an underdog at home. They have certainly been disappointing in the early going, but as a result, this team is showing excellent value tonight. The Memphis Grizzlies are still playing without their best player in Zach Randolph, and they are way overvalued because of it. This play falls into system that is 44-13 (77.2%) ATS over the last 5 seasons. Pick: Colorado +1.5
Colorado is showing some great value as an extremely small underdog at USC on Thursday. The Buffaloes have been impressive in their first season in the PAC 12, supporting a 5-2 conference record. Both losses have came on the road, but both were to very good teams in California and Stanford. I look for the Buffaloes to be extremely motivated to get their first conference road win, especially against a poor USC team that is just 5-15 overall and 0-7 in conference play. USC hasn’t won a game since beating TCU back in the middle of December. The Trojans have one of the worst offenses in the country, averaging just 54.2 ppg. They have lost each of their three conference home games by at least 9-points, and you have to wonder if this team hasn’t already thrown in the towel. Colorado head coach Tad Boyle knows how to motivate his team when they come into a game listed as an underdog. His teams are 41-24 ATS (as an underdog in all games he has coached. The Buffaloes are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a road underdog, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog of 0.5-6.5. and a perfect 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Pick: Wisconsin-Milwaukee -3.5
Butler has been overvalued all season and is just 4-12 ATS in lined games as a result. The Panthers lost the first meeting by 4 points on the road, but I like their chances at home, where they are 9-1 this season. Plus, the Panthers are 10-2 ATS in home games when out to avenge a road loss to an opponent over the last 3 seasons. They’re winning these games by an average of 6.0 points. Pick: Timberwolves vs. Mavericks Over 184
The Dallas Mavericks are more of an up-tempo team now without Dirk Nowitzki on the floor. I look for this game to be fast-paced tonight between the Mavs and Minnesota Timberwolves in Dallas. The Timberwolves hvae been a solid offensive team this year, scoring 95.0 points/game. They are allowing 94.6 points/game, combining with their opponents for 189.6 points/game on average. As you can see, that number is over five points more than the posted total tonight, providing us with some nice line value here. Dallas will look to run more now that they don’t have to run their offense through Dirk, which forces them to play at a slower tempo when he’s on the floor. Dallas and Minnesota have combined to score 186 or more points in six of their last seven meetings. I fully expect this one to finish with 186-plus tonight as well. Pick: Seton Hall -7
Notre Dame upset Syracuse at home Saturday, but it hasn’t been the same team on the road. In fact, it is 1-7 SU and ATS when playing away from home this season, losing those games by an average of 11.5 points. After back-to-back road games, Seton Hall will be happy to be home, where it is 10-0 SU and 6-1 ATS this season with an average winning margin of 14.5 points. The Pirates are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games as a home favorite of 7.0-12.5 points. We’ll take Seton Hall. -Jeff Alexander

Oklahoma State will be fired up for 2nd ranked Missouri, who finds itself in a letdown spot following Saturday’s big upset win at Baylor. I won’t hesitate to side with the home team here as the Tigers are 18-39 ATS in their last 57 road games, and the Cowboys are 34-16-2 ATS in their last 52 home games. Plus, the underdog is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in this series. Take the points. -Dave Price

Pick: Indiana Pacers -3
The Pacers really surprised us with a strong road trip and wins against the Warriors and Lakers, although they did get some help for the refs in their Bay Area win. This team is playing excellent defense and they are doing enough on offense to win games. Orlando just looked horrible last night and this team set franchise lows for scoring (56 points) and field goals (16) against the Celtics (we had our big play on the under in that game, by the way). Even though the Boston defense was unbelievable last night there is something wrong with this offense right now in Orlando and they haven’t looked good in their last four games, save the Lakers game but they only managed 92 in a pretty dominating performance. We just don’t think things get any easier tonight against an Indiana team that allows only 83 PPG at home. They are 4-1 ATS at home this season and 5-0 straight up and we think they are a bit underrated with this line as they are relatively healthy and Orlando is coming in on a back-to-back after that listless performance in Boston last night. -Doc’s Sports

Pick: Phoenix Suns -5
Your free play for Tuesday comes in the NBA as the Toronto Raptors head all the way out to the Southwest to battle the Suns. The Raptors are 1-5 ATS in their last six against the NBA Pacific division and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record. Phoenix is home after a 6-game trip that saw two big upset wins, at Boston and at New York. The team that Phoenix just upset, Boston, played Toronto that same week and blasted the Raptors, 96-73. The favorite is 6-1-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings, the Raptors are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Phoenix and 1-6-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings. Pick: Vanderbilt Commodores +6.5
The Commodores of Vanderbilt invade the Capstone on Thursday night for an SEC battle against the host Alabama Crimson Tide. The Tide enter tonight’s contest off a loss at Mississippi State 56 to 52 as a 1.5-point conference road favorite. That loss ended the Tide’s 5-0 winning streak. Alabama is 7-1 SU at home this season but only 1-3 against the spread. They are averaging 68.7 points per game on their home floor while allowing 53.6 points per game. When the Tide has faced conference foes, we see their scoring drop 3.7 points per game compared to their home numbers and they allow more points per game during conference play as we see 2.4 points per game average increase for their opponents. Vanderbilt comes into tonight’s game riding a seven-game winning streak with a 3-2 against the spread mark over that span. The Commodores defeated Georgia their last time out 77 to 66 but failing to cover the thirteen-point spread. Vandy has posted a record of 3-0 SU in conference play this season covering the spread in two of those three games. During their seven-game winning streak, they have won by an average margin of almost twenty-points per game with 19.1 points per game advantage.

Vanderbilt’s big man Festus Ezeli appears to be back in decent health while Jeffery Taylor and John Jenkins have been strong during conference play so far this season. Taylor has averaged fifty-seven percent from the field and just over fourteen-points per game during SEC play. Jenkins has been lighting up SEC foes from behind the arc shooting forty-four percent and just over sixteen points per game. This type of offensive firepower should cause problems for a group of pachyderms that cannot seem to find the basket this season struggling with 66 points per game, which is good enough for 209 in the nation. Do not look for the trey to be an answer either as the Tide has struggled from behind the arc for almost a decade shooting just over twenty-seven percent. Vanderbilt is 11-2 ATS in road games over the last 2 seasons and 12-3 ATS as a road underdog or pick. Our TPR Index projects a point advantage of just 1.34-points in tonight’s game. The Math Model has a point differential of 2.06-points, which favors the Commodores. Add it all up and you have a play on the underdog in the Vanderbilt-Alabama contest on Thursday evening. Pick: Duke Blue Devils -22.5
On Thursday the free NCAAB Play is on the Duke Blue Devils. Game 542 at 7:00 eastern. Duke has been a machine against Wake Forest going 22-5 straight up and 20-7 ats against them since 1997. Over the last 12 years here at home they are 12-0 straight up and against the spread. They are also 11-0 straight up and ats in all games at home when the total is 145 to 149.5. Even as a home favorite in this high range they are profitable going 49-0 and 31-16 to the spread. Wake Forest is a dismal 0-25 straight up and 7-17 ats as a road dog of 12.5 or more and 1-7 ats on the road when the total is 145 to 149.5. In fact, the Bulldogs, who are coming off a 17-point win over Illinois State, are 0-7 ATS in road games following a win by 10 points or more over the last 2 seasons. Amazingly, Drake has lost by an average score of 85.4 to 56.6 in this situation. Southern Illinois has quietly won 3 of its last 4 at home with the lone loss during this stretch coming to a Wichita State, which is currently tied with Creighton atop the conference. Minnesota isn’t exactly a team I would normally lay 8.5-points on, but with the Pistons coming to town I can’t pass up, especially with Detroit playing the second of back-to-back road games. Detroit has won just one road game all season, and that came against a bad Charlotte team. In their six losses they Pistons have lost every game by at least 9 points. While Minnesota is just 3-5 at home, two of those wins came against the Mavericks and Spurs. Not only are the Pistons playing the second game of a back-to-back set on the road, but this is their fourth road and fifth game overall in the last week. Detroit comes in off two straight losses, and are a miserable 3-12 ATS in road games after 2 or more consecutive losses over the last 2 seasons. Not to mention the Pistons are just 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games as a road underdog of 5.0-10.5. Minnesota comes in of a 13-point win and cover against the Kings at home. The Thunder are certainly playing well. I expect them to have their hands full this evening though. The Celtics should really want this one. They’ve dropped four straight now. Note that they’re still 5-1 SU (4-2 ATS) the last six times that they were off three or more consecutive losses. They’re also still a healthy 15-9 SU/ATS the last 24 times that they were off three or more consecutive losses. The Celtics are a team capable of stepping up their game at any time. love this matchup as KU is not nearly as good as they have been in the past and Baylor is looking to finally get over the hump in the Big12. The Mizzou Tigers are getting a little too much respect here against a Texas A&M squad that has won 8 straight in the series. The Minnesota Timberwolves look to rebound from their last loss at Atlanta that found them leading by 18-points, only to be outscored during one stretch 24-2. Additionally, the Wolves will look for their first win in their last four home games. While the Wolves and Kings both have the same amount of wins on the season (4), a lot more was expected from Minnesota this year than Sacramento. The Kings have not been competitive on the road this year, going 1-6 both SU and ATS away from home. If you toss out their lone road win at Toronto, the Kings have lost by 39 at Dallas, 14 at Houston, 27 at Philly, 27 at Denver, 17 at Memphis and 22 at Portland. Minnesota F Michael Beasley (Foot) is questionable tonight, but I don’t see them really needing him. Lay the 7 1/2 or more points with the Wolves against a very bad road Kings club. -Jim Feist

While Notre Dame is just 1-6 on the road this season, their last game on the road they went into Louisville and beat the Cardinals 67-65 as 12-point underdogs. My money is on the Fighting Irish to pull off another road upset against Rugters. The Scarlet Knights are a respectable 9-3 at home this season, but are just 2-4 ATS in line games. Notre Dame has been a hard to figure out, as they look great one game and then completely fall apart the next. The Irish seem to respond well to a loss, as they have followed up their last three defeats with a win. They lost at home to Connecticut 53-67 on Saturday, despite leading in that game at half. Notre Dame is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs. Big East, while Rutgers is just 1-9-2 ATS in their last 12 games as a favorite and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games as a home favorite. Indiana appears ready to challenge for a Big Ten title, but I’m not ready to lay this many points with the Hoosiers in Big Ten play, especially against a Minnesota team that will be leaving it all on the floor in hopes of ending a 4-game skid. The Hoosiers were favored by 7.5 points over Michigan in their most recent home game and only won by 2 points. This Minnesota team went on the road and played Michigan to a 5-point game so I have no doubts it can hang around tonight. Indiana is an improved team, but we can’t forget that it is 1-9 ATS in its last 10 Big Ten contests and 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games as a home favorite of 7.0-12.5 points. We also can’t forget that the underdog is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings in this series. Pick: Marist +11
Marist should not be catching double-digits against Pennsylvania tonight. These two 5-6 teams are a lot more evenly-matched than this line would indicate. The clear value in this one is with the road underdog Red Foxes. Pennsylvania is in a huge letdown spot tonight, and they are likely to be rusty as well. After playing UCLA last time out, the Quakers will go on to play Davidson and Duke following this game. That makes this an “in-between” game and a definite “look-ahead” spot. Plus, Pennsylvania hasn’t played since December 10th, and that will certainly work against them. The Quakers are actually getting outscored at home this season. They have played a fairly easy schedule too, with only three true road games compared to seven home games. Marist has played a more difficult schedule, playing six road games compared to five home games. This play falls into a system that is 29-6 (82.9%) over the last 5 seasons. It tells us to bet on road teams as an underdog or pick (MARIST) – average offensive team (67-74 PPG) against a poor offensive team (63-67 PPG), after playing a game where both teams score 80 points or more. While you might think it’s time to fade them, I believe they are showing great value as a 7-point underdog against George Mason. The Patriots have been hit or miss all season with a 7-4 record. They have lost two of their last three, including a 64-75 loss at home to Duquesne as a 4-point favorite. Manhattan has already won more games than they did all of last season. They are currently 8-4. Last year they went just 6-25! The difference has been first year head coach Steve Masiello, who was a former assistant at Louisville. Until this team starts getting some national recognition they are going to be a strong play against the spread, as no one likes to bet on a team they have never heard of. Manhattan is 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 road games vs. a team with a winning home record, 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600, and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Colonial Athletic Association. Pick: Western Michigan +9
5* graded play on Western Michigan as they take on Oakland in College Hoops action set to start at 7:00 PM ET. My proprietary sports handicapping database and simulator shows a high probability that that Western Michigan will lose this game by fewer than nine points. Supporting this graded play is a system that has produced a record of 56-25 ATS for 69% winners since 2005. Play on road dogs of 3.5 to 9.5 points after two or more consecutive wins and is a struggling team winning between 20% to 40% of their games on the season. Head coach Hawkins has done very well when facing poor perimeter shooting teams like Oakland. He has posted a 22-12 ATS versus poor three point shooting teams making 31% or less of their attempts. This is the advantage I see WM having in this game. They can sit back in a tight zone and for Oakland to shoot. Missed shots can then be rebounded and then look to fast break scoring opportunities in transition. The Auburn Tigers are off to an impressive 4-1 start this season. I’ll back them as a small home favorite over 6-4 South Florida tonight. Auburn has not played since December 2nd, which has given them nearly two full weeks of rest. USF last played on Sunday, December 11th. Auburn is 4-0 at home this season. While they have played a soft home schedule, the Tigers are still outscoring opponents 75.5 to 58.2 at home, or by an average of 17.3 points/game. South Florida is 0-4 SU & 0-4 ATS on the road this season. The Bulls are getting outscored 50.7 to 65.0 away from home, or by an average of 14.3 points/game. In their two true road games, USF lost to Kansas and VCU by 28 and 23 points, respectively. The Tigers are 15-5-2 ATS in their last 22 games following a S.U. loss, including 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss. The Bulls are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 non-conference games. After losing my SEC Non-Conference GOTY on Tuesday, I have decided to give away one of my highest rated plays for Wednesday as a free pick. I took Mississippi State -14 last night, not knowing that they were going to be missing the services of junior forward Arnett Moultrie, who averages 17.1 points and 11.3 rebounds a game. I will not only stick to the SEC on Wednesday, but the state of Mississippi, as I have placed a big bet on the Ole Miss Rebels -13. The Rebels come into this game with an 8-1 overall record, and should have no trouble blowing out a depleted Ragin’ Cajuns team that is just 5-6 on the season. Louisiana-Lafayette is expected to be without 6’9 junior Kadeem Coleby and 6’5 sophomore J.J. Thomas. Not only are Coleby(11.4ppg) and Thomas(10.1 ppg) the Ragin’ Cajuns two best scoring threats, they are the only players on the team averaging over 10-points a game. Not only are they losing their two best offensive weapons but key contributors in rebounding and defense. Another big reason I am backing the Rebels tonight, is the new addition to the rotation for Mississippi. Freshman guard Ladarius White made his season debut(academically ineligible first 8 games) in the Rebels most recent 80-56 win over Mississippi Valley State. White came off the bench to score 16 points in just 26 minutes. White is added to a rotation that already had five players averaging in double-figures. The Ragin’Cajuns injuries and the Rebels depth should allow Mississippi to jump out to an early lead and never look back.
