My money is on Jake Arrieta and the Cubs to avoid elimination once again and send this series to a Game 7. Chicago’s offense seems to come alive whenever their backs are against the wall and they get a big bat back in the lineup with the series shifting back to Cleveland, as Kyle Schwarber is eligible to DH. Arrieta took a no hitter into the 6th inning of his first start in the World Series and I look for him to carry over that success into Game 6. I also think the Cubs offense has a much better time getting to Indians starter Josh Tomlin, who is not accustomed to pitching on short rest and simply won’t be as sharp as he was in his previous start. Keep in mind Tomlin only had 1 strikeout. It’s also worth noting the wind will be blowing out to straight center and that benefits the big bats of Chicago. Give me the Cubs -144!

The Indians took Game 1 of the World Series behind another incredible start from Corey Kluber. That’s really the only game where Cleveland’s starting pitching can stack up against the Cubs. In their Game 1 win, the Indians also had to use Andrew Miller for 2 innings, racking up 46 pitches, making it unlikely he throws again tonight. I know it hasn’t been a great postseason for Arrieta, but I still have a lot of trust in him going forward. I don’t have near the trust for Indians starter Trevor Bauer. I look for the Cubs offense to come to life and respond just as they did in the NLCS when they fell behind the Dodgers. Give me Chicago -132!

Chicago has their swagger back after last night’s 10-2 win and I look for them to carry over that offensive surge here against Maeda and the Dodgers. At the same time, the Cubs have a massive edge on the mound here with them sending out their ace Jon Lester. He’s the last person this Dodgers lineup wants to see. Including his Game 1 start, Lester has faced LA 3 times this season. In those 3 starts, he’s allowed just 2 earned run on 11 hits with 19 strikeouts in 21 innings of work. Not a huge surprise given how this Dodgers team has struggled against left-handed pitching. Momentum can be everything in the postseason and I believe the Cubs clearly have it right now. The Dodgers and Cubs resume their National League Championship Series with Game 3 in Los Angeles First pitch is set for 8 PM ET where Chicago is favored by -112 with the total at 6.5.

The Dodgers now have the luxury of playing three straight games at home after splitting two in Chicago.

In Game 2, Clayton Kershaw and Kenley Jansen combined for a two-hitter with Kershaw working seven strong innings allowed a walk and two singles. The only scoring in Game 2 came courtesy of a second inning home run off the bat of Adrian Gonzalez.

Jake Arrieta, an 18 winner during the regular season, gave up two runs in six innings in a no-decision against San Francisco in the NL Division Series. Arrieta no-hit the Dodgers in his last visit to Chavez Ravine and has worked 16 scoreless innings in his past two starts vs. LA.

Rich Hill won 12 games in the regular season but hasn’t fared well this postseason. He lasted just seven total innings over two starts against Washington in the NLDS.Hill is 0-2 in three career starts in the playoffs but has never faced the Cubs. In his last postseason start, Hill worked only 2.2 innings, allowed a run on three hits and received a no-decision in the Dodgers’ 4-3 victory over the Washington Nationals in Game 5 of the NLDS.

The UNDER is 13-3 in the last 16 series meetings while the Cubs are 9-3-1 to the high side in their past 12 games.
