Pick: Sacramento Kings +7.5
The Kings travel to Indiana for a meeting against the host Pacers on Friday night. This will be the Kings fourth road game in the last six days. No real reason to worry some put too much emphasis on this particular situation even I have used it before but you should look at it on a case-by-case basis. Sacramento is 12-1 ATS (+10.9 Units) in road games against Central division opponents over the last 3 seasons. They are also 21-11 ATS (+8.9 Units) revenging a same season loss this season. Indiana went into Sacramento back on November 30 as a four-point road favorite and came away with a 107 to 98 victory. Our Play ON team qualifies in several key technical situations we found researching our powerful NBA database for tonight’s game. When the Kings are coming off a SU win as an underdog and are now playing in the current price range they are a blistering 18-2-2 ATS. If you put them on the highway in that same situation we find they are perfect at 10-0-1 ATS. Install them, as underdogs in the original situation the Kings are 11-1-1 ATS but make them a road underdog and they are perfect with an 8-0-1 ATS mark. If Sacramento is coming off a road spread win as an underdog and now play in the current price range they are 21-3-5 ATS their last 29 times to post. If the Kings won SU/ATS on the road as an underdog in their last game and now play in the current price range they are a money-making 14-1-2 ATS their last 17 qualifying contests. The database research also uncovered a league-wide system that tells us to Play AGAINST (Indiana) NBA teams coming off a spread victory as a road underdog in a game in which it went Over the posted total and are now installed as a non-conference home favorite. These home favorites are a miserable 97-148-4 ATS. Finally, we want to Play AGAINST NBA home teams that average between 98 and 102 points per game against a team that struggles on the defensive end of the floor allowing 102 or more points per game, after scoring at least one-hundred points in two straight games. Playing against these home teams has produced a record of 53-25 ATS for 68 percent winners the last five seasons. Take the generous points here as the Kings avenge that earlier loss to the Pacers. -Robbie Gainous

Pick: Denver Nuggets -15
Teams in Denver like to go uptempo to take advantage of the thin, mountain air on opponents. Into town come the lifeless Washington Wizards, a team on a 1-8 SU, 2-7 ATS run playing no defense. This is the third straight road game for Washington, a long way from home, and they are 1-33 on the road! The Wizards are 8-22 ATS in their last 30 road games and 17-35 ATS in their last 52 games overall. While the Knicks are stumbling with Carmelo Anthony, Denver is thriving with a new faces, a young athletic team. The Nuggets are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 home games and 22-8 ATS in their last 30 games overall. They returned home from an impressive 4-game road trip (4-0 ATS), which included close losses at Miami (85-82) and Orlando (103-98) by blowing out Toronto, 123-90. Nene had 18 points and seven rebounds, and J.R. Smith had a near triple-double: 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Then the Spurs came to town and the Nuggets have had a day to rest after a thrilling come from behind 115-112 victory. The Nuggets are 11-4 since the Carmelo Anthony trade. Look for a superior effort by the young, hungry home team that continues to overachieve. Play the Nuggets. -Jim Fiest (Handicapperspicks.com)

NBA Picks for February 28th 2011: Bet The Atlanta Hawks As Underdogs Monday

NBA Picks: February 28th 2011

Pick: Atlanta Hawks +6
The Atlanta Hawks are back on track with two straight quality road wins over Golden State (95-79) and Portland (90-83). They have really clamped down on the defensive end and will do so again tonight against a Denver team that is without Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, making points hard to come by for the Nuggets. Atlanta is 14-5 ATS in their last 19 meetings with the Nuggets, including 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings in Denver. The Nuggets have surprisingly played well after their trade with the Knicks, but that won’t last and they are certainly overvalued because of the way they have played since the trade. Denver is 1-11 ATS (-11.1 Units) in home games versus teams who attempt 18 or more 3 point shots/game – 2nd half of the season over the last 2 seasons. The Nuggets are 15-31-6 ATS in their last 52 games following a ATS win. Denver is 0-11 ATS (-12.1 Units) after a close loss by 3 points or less over the last 2 seasons. The Hawks are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 0 days rest. Atlanta is a perfect 9-0 ATS (+9.0 Units) after 2 consecutive non-conference games this season. Take the Hawks and the points. -Black Widow

Pick: Suns vs. Nets Under 206.5
Plays Under on road teams (PHOENIX) when the total is greater than or equal to 200, provided they are coming off a road win in which they scored 110 or more points and are playing 4 or less games in 10 days, are 30-8 the last 5 seasons. We are only seeing an average of 199.3 total points scored in this situation. Last month, New Jersey gave up 118 points in a loss at Phoenix. This is key because the Nets are an impressive 15-5 Under in home games when out to avenge a loss in which it allowed an opponent to score 110 points or more the last 3 seasons. We are only seeing an average of 196.6 total points scored in this situation. Bet the Under. -Jeff Alexander (Handicapperspicks.com)

Pick: Orlando Magic -5.5
It can be tough to get back up after a loss like the Magic endured to Miami last night, but they have no choice. They have lost 2 in a row and Boston is on deck. Washington checks in having lost 6 in a row, and all 6 of those defeats have come by at least 7 points. Unfortunately for the Wiz, there’s no chance Orlando will overlook them tonight. Orlando only defeated Washington by 1 point when the teams last faced off in November. The Magic are a much better team now, and that narrow win will have them very focused this evening. Orlando has been an extremely reliable road fave in this range. In fact, the Magic are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games as a road favorite of 5.0-10.5 points. Orlando has also taken care of business against weak competition. In the second half of the season the last two seasons, the Magic are 11-2 ATS when playing against bad teams (Win Pct. 25% to 40%), defeating these foes by an average score of 111.6 to 94.3. In addition, Washington is just 4-15 ATS in the second half of the season the last three seasons when playing at home against a team with a winning record. It is losing to these teams by an average score of 105.7 to 94.9. Take the Magic. -Jimmy Boyd

Pick: Denver Nuggets -10
Denver is a very strong 21-5 SU at home this year where they are scoring 110.7 points per game this year. Denver is 7-1 SU and 6-1 ATS at home vs Utah last 3 years. Jazz are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a SU loss. Jazz are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss. Jazz are 8-20-1 ATS in their last 29 games as a road underdog of 5.0-10.5. Jazz are 8-21-1 ATS in their last 30 games as an underdog of 5.0-10.5. Jazz are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games overall. Jazz are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Western Conference. Jazz are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 1 days rest. Jazz are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Jazz are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game. Jazz are 1-11 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a winning SU record. Jazz are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 road games. Jazz are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog. Jazz are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a road underdog. Jazz are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Nuggets are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games as a home favorite. Nuggets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. NBA Northwest. Nuggets are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games as a favorite. Nuggets are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games. Nuggets are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5. Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest. Nuggets are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games as a favorite of 5.0-10.5. Nuggets are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. Home team is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings. Favorite is 29-11-3 ATS in the last 43 meetings. We’ll recommend a small play on Denver tonight! Thanks and good luck, Rocky Atkinson

Pick: Los Angeles Clippers +7.5
The Clippers are a different team than earlier in the season posting a 9-5 mark the last 14 times out. In the first game of a long road trip we expect Los Angeles to be at their best. They are off a non-competitive home loss to the Bulls and face Miami, Orlando and New York after tangling with the Hawks. The second half of the trip lets up big time but they have to be able to be competitive against the upper echelon of NBA squads on the road. Atlanta beat the Clippers by 9 earlier in LA but this young team has gained a great deal of confidence since that meeting. Off a double digit victory and with a slew of Eastern Conference opponents on deck we can’t see the Hawks being inspired tonight. They play tomorrow night in Washington so it’s likely the starter’s minutes will be limited against the Clippers. As bad as Washington has been on the road they are a credible force on their home court. While Atlanta has dominated this series on the scoreboard as of late they haven’t had any edge against the spread. We expect the Clippers to give the Hawks all they can handle tonight. -Bryan Leonard (Handicapperspicks.com)

NBA PICK: MILWAUKEE BUCKS +7
The Milwaukee Bucks are one NBA team that you can count on to show up almost every night. That’s why they are showing excellent value Tuesday as a 7-point underdog against the Atlanta Hawks. The Bucks are 6-3 ATS in their last 9 games overall, and dominated New Jersey on the road in their last game by a final of 115-92. They came into that game very prepared, having playing a tough schedule with six straight games against winning teams leading up to it. Playing the likes of Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Miami twice and Orlando here recently will certainly have them prepared to face the Hawks again tonight. Atlanta has reeled off 4 straight victories and have won 8 of their last 10, but as a result they are overvalued in this spot. The Hawks are 4-14 ATS (-11.4 Units) after having won 8 or more of their last 10 games over the last 3 seasons. Milwaukee is only getting outscored by 3.5 points/game on the road, while Atlanta is winning by a mere 4.2 points/game at home this year. The Bucks are 37-25 ATS (+9.5 Units) in road games over the last 2 seasons. Milwaukee is a deadly 14-2 ATS (+11.8 Units) in road games after covering 4 or 5 of their last 6 against the spread over the last 2 seasons. The Bucks are 21-10 ATS in their last 31 games as a road underdog. Milwaukee is 33-15-3 ATS in their last 51 games following a ATS win. The Bucks are 23-7-2 ATS in their last 32 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game. Take Milwaukee and the points. -Black Widow

NBA PICK: SAN ANTONIO SPURS -6
The T-Wolves have played the Spurs tough with all 3 defeats coming by 6 or fewer points. Respect is given to those efforts, but I expect the Spurs to flex their muscles this evening. The Spurs are the superior team in this matchup and they have nearly been caught looking past Minnesota on 3 occasions this season. Having just received a scare from the T-Wolves Sunday, there’s no way San Antonio will take this game lightly tonight. The Spurs have won 15 straight over the Wolves and the last 10 have come by an average score of 109 to 99. Lastly, the Timberwolves are 11-28-1 ATS in their last 40 games as a home underdog of 5.0-10.5 points. Take the Spurs. -Jeff Alexander

NBA PICK: SUNS VS. NUGGETS OVER 217.5
These two teams combined for 271 total points in their last meeting. I’m not expecting to see that many tonight, but I do expect this one to make its way over the number. There won’t be much defense played in this game. The Suns are allowing 111.0 points on the road this season. Plus, the Nuggets have allowed 106 or more points in 10 of their last 15 games. The Over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings between these teams in Denver. The Nuggets have shot poorly of late, which is a big reason they have lost 3 straight. That won’t continue against the Suns’ weak defense. Bet the Over. -Dave Price (Handicapperspicks.com)
