Pick: Philadelphia Phillies -104
The Phillies 4-2 win over Atlanta on Monday showed me that this team isn’t going to just roll over the final three games of the season and let the Braves walk into the playoffs. I actually think Philadelphia would prefer that the Braves don’t make it. They figure to have a great shot at winning game 2 of the series with Roy Oswalt on the mound against Derek Lowe. Oswalt has dominated the Braves since joining the Phillies, he is 1-0 with a 1.71 ERA in four starts with three of those starts resulting in Phillies wins. Lowe has not had much success of late against Philadelphia, allowing 9 ER on 18 hits over 11 innings in his last two starts. Lowe is also 0-3 with a 7.98 ERA and 1.978 WHIP in his last three starts. Philadelphia is 10-2 in their last 12 road games vs. a team with a winning record and 12-4 in their last 16 games following a win. BET THE PHILLIES! -Steve Janus

Pick: Florida Marlins -152
I like the Marlins with Vazquez on the mound tonight. The Marlins have won each of his last 6 starts, during which he has only allowed a total of 4 earned runs in 43 innings. He has been nearly unhittable recently, not allowing a run in his last 3 starts spanning 22 innings. He’s also won his last 2 starts against the Nats, giving up only 1 run in 16 innings of work. Lannan hasn’t been as good for Washington, and the Nationals are 2-6 in his last 8 starts as a result. They are 1-4 in his last 5 starts vs. the Marlins. The Nationals are 20-51 in the last 71 meetings in this series and 17-35 in the last 52 meetings in Florida. We’ll take the Marlins. -Jimmy Boyd

Pick: Yankees vs. Rays Under 8.5
The Rays are now tied with the BoSox for the wildcard and for Tampa Bay’s part, this is a playoff series. Hellickson is 3-2 with a 2.03 ERA in his L7 starts for the homies. Bartolo Colon was lit by the Ray at the Stadium just five days ago but has good numbers at the Trop and July 19th lost this same matchup with Hellickson 3-2. The Yankees are resting their regualrs and the series is 6-2 to the under in L8. Further, Ray home games are 49-25 Low. Runs will be tough to come in this playoff atmosphere. Play the Under. -Dennis Macklin (Handicapperspicks.com)

Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers -123
Look for NL Cy Young candidate Clayton Kershaw to bring the Giants’ 8-game win streak to an end tonight. Kershaw is 19-5 (21-10 on the ML) with an ERA of 2.30 on the season. He’s 11-1 (12-3 on the ML) with an ERA of 1.72 at home. He’s also 5-1 (7-3 on the ML) lifetime against the Giants with an ERA of 1.27. The Dodgers have won 5 of his last 6 starts against San Fran. The Giants, meanwhile, have lost 3 of Tim Lincecum’s 4 starts against the Dodgers this season. The Dodgers have won 13 of Kershaw’s last 16 starts overall. He’s allowed 2 earned runs or less 14 times during this span, including in 7 straight. We’ll take LA. -Jimmy Boyd

Pick: Florida Marlins -109
The Atlanta Braves seem to be falling apart at a less than opportune time. The Braves, who seemed to have the NL wild card all but secured with an 8 1/2-game lead Sept. 4, sit just 2 1/2 ahead of St. Louis following another disappointing defeat. Atlanta suffered its seventh loss in 10 games Monday, falling 6-5 as closer Craig Kimbrel surrendered a two-run, walk off homer to Omar Infante with two outs in the ninth. The Braves have dropped 10 of 12 on the road – including a season worst-tying four straight. After matching a career high with 11 strikeouts en route to throwing a one-hitter during a 3-0 victory at Pittsburgh on Sept. 10, Anibal Sanchez yielded two runs and four hits in six innings of a 3-1 loss at MLB-leading Philadelphia on Thursday. Sanchez is 2-2 with a 2.25 ERA in his last six starts, limiting opponents to a .199 average. The Marlins are 26-12 in Sanchez’s last 38 starts as a home favorite. The Braves are 0-5 in their last 5 games as a road underdog. Take Florida on the Money Line. -Black Widow (Handicapperspicks.com)

Pick: Colorado Rockies -128
I really like the Rockies to take down the Giants in the series opener tonight. The Rockies have won three of four and are in great shape to put an end to the Giants four game winning streak. Colorado is 14-9 at home against the Giants over the last three seasons and I believe they have a clear edge on the mound. The Rockies will start Jhoulys Chacin against Ryan Vogelsong. Both starters have pitched effectively this season and against the opposing team. However, this will be Vogelsong’s first start at Colorado. He has clearly been a better home pitcher this season. He has a 2.74 ERA on the season, but a 3.36 ERA on the road. He is also 0-3 with a 3.54 ERA in his last three starts. Chacin is 3-1 with a 2.08 ERA in four career starts against the Giants. Colorado is 7-1 in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a losing road record, 6-1 in their last 7 home games vs. a right-handed starter, and 4-1 in Chacin’s last 5 starts vs. National League West. BET THE ROCKIES -Steve Janus

Pick: Tampa Bay Rays +100
For starters, Adrian Gonzalez is questionable and David Ortiz is doubtful for this game tonight as of this writing. Tampa Bay is 4 games behind Boston and this series is the best way for them to make up ground as they are running out of town. Boston is only 3-10 in all games this September. Tampa Bay has won 5 of their last 7 games overall. Boston has lost 6 of their last 7 games overall. Jeremy Hellickson has been solid all year. Hellickson is 12-10 with a 2.96 ERA overall this year, 6-5 with a 3.62 ERA on the road this season and has a 2.57 ERA his last 3 starts. Kyle Weiland is 0-1 with a 6.76 in games this year, 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA in all starts and has a 13.50 ERA at home this season. Tampa Bay is 4-1 at Boston this year. We’ll recommend a small play on Tampa Bay tonight! Thanks and good luck, Rocky Atkinson

PIck: Florida Marlins +295
Anibal Sanchez has quietly put together a brilliant stretch, with a 0.86 ERA his last three starts fanning 21 in 21 innings. Sanchez tossed nine scoreless innings and was the winning pitcher Saturday against the Pirates. He allowed just one hit while walking three and striking out 11. Sanchez has not allowed an earned run over his last two starts (15 innings) and has 16 strikeouts over those starts. The win brings his record to 8-7 on the season to accompany a 3.64 ERA, 184 strikeouts and 56 walks. A great spot for the big dog with a red-hot, under the radar starter. Play the Marlins. -Jim Feist (Free MLB Baseball Picks)

Pick: Los Angeles Angels -130
Rarely will you get Los Angeles Ace Jared Weaver at this price at home. I’ll take advantage Friday as the Angels trail the Texas Rangers by just 2.5 games in the AL West division and really need this win. Weaver is having a Cy-Young caliber season at 16-7 with a 2.49 ERA and 1.027 WHIP in 29 starts. He has been virtually untouchable at home, going 8-1 with a 1.87 ERA and 1.059 WHIP in Los Angeles. The Angels are 11-2 in Weaver’s 13 home starts in 2011. Los Angeles is 40-14 in Weaver’s last 54 home starts overall. The Angels are 24-8 in Weaver’s last 32 starts as a home favorite of -110 to -150. The Angels are 4-0 in Weaver’s last 4 home starts vs. Yankees. L.A. is 22-10 in their last 32 home meetings with the Yankees. Bet the Angels Friday. -Jack Jones

Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers +110
A rivalry game and while the pressure is all on the Giants, they haven’t had a good September — and time is running out. Park of the problem has been ace Tim Lincecum, who is 1-2 with a 4.74 ERA his last three starts. San Francisco has a poor offense, 3oth in runs, 29th in on base percentage, and faces LA ace Clayton Kershaw. He has a 1.23 ERA his last three starts and the Dodgers are 8-2 his last 10 starts. The Dodgers are 7-2 in their last 9 road games while the Giants are 2-12 in their last 14 during game 1 of a series. Play the LA Dodgers. -Jim Feist

Pick: Florida Marlins -113
Pittsburgh is 38-76 last 3 years when playing against a team with a losing record in the 2nd half of the season. Florida has played better on the road this year with a 35-35 record but are 16 games below .500 overall. Florida bullpen has a 3.44 ERA overall this season. Ross Ohlendorf is 0-1 with a 6.35 ERA overall this year and 0-1 with an 8.21 ERA at home this season. Florida has won all 3 meetings in this series this year. Nolasco is 4-3 with a 1.99 ERA in all starts vs Pittsburgh. We’ll recommend a small play on Florida tonight! Thanks and good luck, Rocky (Handicapperspicks.com)

Pick: Los Angeles Angels -145
On Tuesday the MLB Free system play is on the LA. Angels. Game 928 at 10:05 eastern. The Angels apply to a nice system that has cashed 12 of 16 times the past 8 years. What we want to do is play on certain home favorites off a home favored win at -200 or higher winning by 2 or more runs and scoring 5 or more runs with no errors, vs an opponent off a road dog loss by 2 or more runs at +200 or higher and scored 4 or less runs with 10+ hits. The Angels have won 19 of 26 here at home vs Seattle and 7 of the last 8. They are 20-7 at home when the total is 7 or less. The total tonight will definitely be 7 or less and F. Hernandez faces E. Santana. Not too often we see Hernandez as this large of a dog. However the line is warranted as Hernandez road numbers are basically the same as Santana at home. Seattle is slumping at the plate averaging just a shade over 3 runs on .229 hitting the past week. The Angels are scoring 5.7 runs over that same time frame. Look for the Angles to win this one tonight. On Tuesday the Lead play is a 25-0 Highest rated NL East play backed with a 100% system and a 100% Power Angle. I also have a 16-1 Dominator system. On Monday we delivered as Our total cashed. Jump on and Cash out On Tuesday. For the free Play take the Angels. -Rob Vinciletti

Pick: Florida Marlins -121
10* Play on Florida at 7:10 ET. I used the Marlins yesterday in an easy 9-3 win over the Mets. Note that the team is 13-4 this year off a win by four or more runs. Since the start of last year, they are 21-10 after scoring 8+ runs. They turn to Chris Volstad, who has an 8-1 TSR off a team win. Florida has now won three straight, including a pair of huge underdog wins over the Phillies. The Mets are just 7-18 L25 games in Miami and this is Miguel Batista’s 1st road start of the season. Take Florida. -Tom Freese

Pick: Minnesota Twins +118
A fun night for the home team, getting a look at top prospect Liam Hendriks. He’s had a great run in the minors and commands 4 good pitches. His fastball touches the low 90s and he also features a decent curve and change-up. What made Hendrik’s so dominant in the minors last year was his control, walking only 12 guys in 108.2 innings! He faces a weak White Sox lineup that is 21st in runs and slugging. Meanwhile, Jake Peavy has run out of gas with a 7.94 ERA his last three starts and he’s 1-2 with a 5.71 ERA against the Twins in 2011. The White Sox are 3-9 in Peavy’s last 12 starts vs. American League Central. Play the Twins. -Jim Feist (Handicapperspicks.com)

Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks +133
The Arizona Diamondbacks are showing some great value at +133 against the Phillies on Thursday. Arizona had won seven straight before falling last night, including a 3-2 win over Roy Halladay on Tuesday. Both teams will send out outstanding starting pitching, as Ian Kennedy takes the rubber for Arizona against Vance Worley. While both starters have been great, Kennedy comes in pitching much better of late. He is 3-0 with a 2.45 ERA and 1.045 WHIP in his last three starts, while Worley is just 1-0 with a 6.35 ERA and 1.471 WHIP in his last three. Kennedy has a 1.06 ERA and 0.471 WHIP in two career starts against the Phillies, while Worley will make his career debut against Arizona. The Diamondbacks are 7-1 in their last 8 vs. National League East, 9-1 in Kennedys last 10 starts as an underdog of +110 to +150, and 6-0 in their last 6 games vs. a right-handed starter. BET THE DIAMONDBACKS! -Steve Janus

Pick: Florida Marlins +125
Florida is weak at home, but has a winning road record. The Marlins are 6-1 in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a losing record. Javier Vazquez goes here and has been on a roll, with a 2.25 ERA his last three starts walking 4 with 18 Ks in 20 innings. The Padres are 18-40 in their last 58 home games vs. a right-handed starter and starter Tim Stauffer has a 7.16 ERA his last three starts. The Padres are also 11-27 in their last 38 during game 1 of a series. Play the Marlins. -Jim Feist (Handicapperspicks.com)
