Pick: New Jersey Nets +11
Since starting the month of March with 5 straight wins, the Nets have dropped 9 of their last 10. Their recent funk, however, isn’t enough to keep me off them here. Over the last few weeks, New Jersey has a win over Boston and it has played Chicago, Orlando and Atlanta to within 11 points or less. In other words, the Nets have gotten up for the big boys. They should especially be motivated in this spot following a forgettable performance at Philadelphia Friday. Deron Williams had a miserable game with four points in 23 minutes. Expect his competitiveness to drive him to a much better performance in this one. New Jersey is an impressive 14-6 ATS in home games when playing against a team with a winning record this season. It is only losing these contests by an average of 3.6 points. In addition, the Nets are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog of 11.0 points or more. We’ll take the points.

Pick: Indiana Pacers +5
4 of the L5 meetings in this series have been decided by 5 points or less. With both teams fighting hard to secure playoff spots, I expect another close game in which the points will come in handy. Consider that the road team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings and the underdog is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings. Also, the Hornets are a lousy 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 games as a home favorite. The loss of leading scorer David West really hurts New Orleans. Plus, Chris Paul is struggling right now, averaging 8.7 points on 30.3 percent shooting in his last three games. Take the Pacers and the points. -Dave Price

Pick: Houston Rockets -5.5
Houston will play with a greater sense of urgency and desperation this evening as it continues to push for a playoff spot. Atlanta is in already and will be feeling fat and happy after a win over Boston. Houston is 12-2 SU and 11-3 ATS in its last 14 home games in this series. The Rockets are 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5 points and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. the Eastern Conference. The Hawks are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 vs. the NBA Southwest division and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog of 5.0-10.5 points. Take the Rockets. -Jeff Alexander (Handicapperspicks.com)

NBA Picks for March 13th 2011: Look For The Celtics To Cover The Spread On Sunday

Pick: Pacers vs. Knicks over 218
On Sunday the free NBA Totals system Play is on The Over in the Indiana Pacers at New Yorl Knicks game. Rotation numbers 877/878 at 6:05 eastern. This game fits the solid system below that has cashed 10 of 11 times since 1995. The Line looks a little high for the late phones but for a free play will take a shot. The Pacers have gone over in 6 of their last 9 vs winning teams and the Knicks have gone over 7 of the last 9 vs losing teams. For the system we want to play the over for road dogs of 5 or more like Indy that was on the road with a spread of +3 to -3 and scored 90 or more on 455 or less shooting vs an opponent that scored 100 or more as a road dog and the posted total is 190 or higher. This system has cashed 10 of 11 times since 1995. Go over the total is what should be an entertaining game. On Sunday I have the NBA Western Conference NBA Game of the Month from a 98% system and a 100% Championship system winner from a system that cashed on Saturday. I also have opinions on the remaining championship games as well. Take the Pacers and Knicks to go over the total. See system below. -Rob Vinciletti

Pick: Boston Celtics -9
Motivated by back-to-back defeats, and with a full day of rest on their side, expect the Celtics to bounce back strong against the Bucks Sunday. The Bucks have played the Celtics close in a pair of losses this season, but Boston wasn’t heavily motivated in either of those games. Plus, Milwaukee faces the tough task of taking on the Celtics without a day of rest. Boston is a proven bounce back team from a SU and ATS perspective. In fact, it is 20-9 ATS in its last 29 games following a SU loss. In addition, Boston is 18-7 ATS in its last 25 games following consecutive losses by 6 points or less. It is also worth noting that the C’s are 11-2 ATS after failing to cover the number in 2 or more consecutive games this season. They are winning by an average score of 100.8 to 88.5 in this situation. The Bucks are just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as a road underdog of 5.0-10.5 points, and I expect them to fall again in this role Sunday. (Handicapperspicks.com)

Pick: Warriors vs. Celtics Under 204
Taking the under in Golden State road games has been one of the strongest trends in the NBA this season as the numbers are always overinflated. The under is 19-9 in the Warriors last 28 road games and this team just doesn’t perform up to offensive expectations when on the road and we think they struggle again tonight against a Boston team that has one of the best home defenses in the NBA (92 PPG allowed at home). This is the third game in four nights for the Warriors and we just don’t see how they have much success with the fatigue factor and against one of the best defenses in the NBA. We think this is a situation where even if the Celtics get close to 110 that the Warriors will still be so far behind that this one will stay under the posted number. The under is 11-3 in the Warriors last 14 overall and six of the last nine meetings (including three of the last four) have gone under the posted number. -Doc’s Sports

Pick: Indiana Pacers +8.5
While the Mavericks are playing outstanding basketball right now. We believe Dallas will struggle against Indiana without Tyson Chandler in the lineup. Chandler might not seem like a big loss, but it is really going to hurt their defense and rebounding. Not to mention the Pacers beat the Mavs 102-89 earlier this season. Dallas is just 7-20 ATS in home games vs the Eastern Conference over the last 2 seasons. Indiana is 8-1 ATS after allowing 100 points or more 2 straight games this season, and are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game. -Info Plays

Pick: Chicago Bulls +2
You have to be impressed with Orlando’s comeback win over the Heat last night, but I believe that huge second half run really took a lot out of the Magic, leaving them with little in tank for their game against the Bulls tonight. Chicago will be more than ready to play, especially Derrick Rose, after their collapse in Atlanta Wednesday night. Orlando is just 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games when their starting 5 players combine for more than 160 minutes of the previous day, while the Bulls are 21-7-1 ATS in their last 29 games following a S.U. loss, and a perfect 7-0-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600! Bet Chicago! -Steve Janus (Handicapperspicks.com)

NBA Picks for February 22nd 2011: Consider The Clippers And Celtics On Tuesday

Pick: Los Angeles Clippers +8.5
On Tuesday the free NBA System Play is on the LA. Clippers. Game 509 at 8:05 eastern. This game fits a nice system that dates to 1995. What we want to do is play against home favorites of 8.5 or more with 4 or more days of rest that scored 120 or more as a home favorite in the game prior to the 4+ day break. These teams are 2-9 ats. While this system is solid, the sample is small for a 16 year study and the Clippers are not a good road team. The Clippers are however very good off a dog win covering in 7 of the 9 following games. Ironically they have won the last 3 times they have played here. The Thunder have lost 6 of 9 to the spread vs Pacific Division teams and 4 of 6 to the spread vs losing teams in the second half. If the line on this one were to shoot upwards of 12 points we would then recommend the Clippers on a unit rated basis. On Tuesday the NBA Comes back from the break and were 16 games over .500 on the season. Tonight the lead play is a double system NBA Side backed with an all star break return to action system. I also have 2 solid NCAAB Power Angle Plays up. One with 7 Power Angles good for the NCAAB Game of the week. The Other that applies to a blowout system. Last nights top play cashed with Kent. For the free Play take the LA. Clipppers. Rob Vinciletti

Pick: Boston Celtics -4.5
Golden St is 26-29 straight up this year. The Warriors are 2-5 ATS their last 7 games after allowing 100 or more points in their last game. The Warriors are 2-6 ATS their last 8 games as home underdogs. The Warriors are 6-12 ATS when allowing 100 or more points in their last game. Boston is 40-14 straight up this year. The Celtics are 4-1 ATS their last 5 games when playing with 3 or days rest and they are 5-1 ATS their last 6 Tuesday games. The Celtics are 22-6 ATS after allowing 80 or less points in their last game. PLAY ON BOSTON -Tom Freese

Pick: Detroit Pistons +1.5
It’s understood that Houston (26-31) is better then Detroit (21-36) but by how much? If you break it down as a road and home affair the Pistons actually grade out better as they are 14-15 straight-up and the Rockets are only 11-18. Houston has had difficulties in Detroit covering on two of the last nine meetings in the Motor City and the home team is 6-2-1 ATS in the last nine meetings. Take DETROIT! -Chip Chirimbes

Pick: Indiana Pacers -1.5
While Indiana is a notch below the elite teams in the NBA, it has certainly taken care of business against the bottom of the barrel. Indiana is 21-10 ATS when playing against a bad team (Win Pct. 25% to 40%) over the last 2 seasons, defeating these squads by an average score of 103.6 to 98.4. It is also worth mentioning that the Pacers are 11-4-2 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. Lay the points with the Pacers tonight. -Dave Price (Handicapperspicks.com)

Pick: Bobcats vs. Jazz Over 189
On Monday night the NBA Totals system play is on the Over in the Charlotte at Utah Game. Rotation numbers 711/712 at 9:05 eastern. This game fits a totals system which has Cashed 19 of 27 times since 1995. While not high enough of a percentage to be unit rated its definitely good for the free play. What we want to do is play the over for home favorites with no rest that scored 90 or less points as a road dog vs an opponent that also scored 90 or less points and had 25 or less assists. The Jazz as a team have gone over the total 3 of 4 times this season home with no rest off a road game and 7 of 8 times vs South East Division teams. In the series 11 of the last 13 have flown over the total including all 6 here in Utah. The Bobcats have played over the total in 5 of 7 games with home loss revenge. Look for this one to Play over the total tonight. On Monday I have the 100% Monday night TV Game of the season that’s backed with 8 power angles. I also have another cutting edge NBA Power system Play. Last night we nailed another solid 5* NBA winner as we continue to cash in the NBA. For the Free Play Go over the total Charlotte at Utah. -Rob Vinciletti

Pick: Indiana Pacers -8.5
The Pacers are on a 5-0 SU and ATS run at home in this series, winning these games by an average score of 120-104. The Pacers already own a 24-point home win over the Raptors this season. Revenge doesn’t appear to be in the cards for Toronto tonight when you consider that plays against underdogs (TORONTO) looking to avenge a road blowout loss of 20 points or more, if they are an extremely tired team playing their 3rd game in 4 days, are 75-39 ATS the last 5 seasons. Also, Indiana is an impressive 15-5 ATS as a favorite of 3.5 to 9.5 points over the last 2 seasons, winning these games by an average of 11.6 points. Expect the Pacers to play hard for interim coach Frank Vogel to get the win and cover tonight. Lay the points. -Jeff Alexander

Pick: Cleveland Cavaliers +17.5
LeBron James and company are coming off a big win over the Thunder Sunday. Plus, James has already defeated his former team twice this season. I just don’t see the Heat being motivated enough to lay the pedal to the metal here against the worst team in the NBA. Expect Miami to go through the motions, doing just enough to come out on top. Cleveland will want this game more tonight. That doesn’t mean it will win, but it should be competitive. That, combined with Miami’s apathy toward this game, is enough reason to think the Cavs can keep this one within the number. Consider that Miami is just 4-14 ATS in its last 18 games as a favorite of 10 or more points. It is only winning these games by an average of 9.0 points. Also, plays on road underdogs of 10 or more points looking to avenge a road loss to an opponent, provided they have a losing record, are an impressive 106-56 ATS the last 5 seasons. Take the points. -Jimmy Boyd

Pick: Orlando Magic -1.5
Orlando is 15-5 in their last 20 games overall and are clearly the superior team in this showdown with the Memphis Grizzlies. Four of their five losses during this stretch came against the top teams in the league, and they aren’t about to lose to a .500 team like the Grizzlies. The Magic have won each of their last two meetings with Memphis by 15 and 17 points, respectively. That 17-point victory came earier this season as they shut down the Grizzlies by a final of 89-72. This play falls into a system that is 93-50 (65%) ATS since 1996. It tells us to bet against underdogs (Memphis) – revenging a loss where team scored less than 75 points, with a winning percentage of between 45-55% on the season. Orlando is 27-15 ATS versus up-tempo teams averaging 83 or more shots/game over the last 2 seasons. The Magic are 54-29 ATS after having won 15 or more of their last 20 games over the last 3 seasons. The Grizzlies are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a home underdog of 0.5-4.5. Take Orlando Monday. -Jack Jones (Handicapperspicks.com)
