NBA PICKS OCTOBER 26TH 2010The 2010-11 NBA sports betting season opens up Tuesday night with a trio of games that finds Lebron James and Chris Bosh making their debut with the Miami Heat in Beantown as well as the Lakers raising the banner for their 2009-10 NBA Championship. Here’s a look at all three season opening battles.

Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics
Game Date/Time: Tuesday, October 26th, 7:30 ET
Game Location: TD Banknorth Garden, Boston, MA
TV/Radio Broadcast: TNT, Sirius, XM
NBA Odds: Miami Heat (-1) -110 vs. Boston Celtics (+1) -110: Over/Under 189.5

The trio of Lebron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade look to take their first step towards winning a number of championships on Tuesday night when the Heat invade the Garden for what should be a solid NBA sports betting battle against the Boston Celtics. Don’t expect the men from Beantown to take this one lightly, as the defending Eastern Conference champions had to hear all summer long how the conference was the Heat’s to lose. While there’s no questioning just how uber talented the Heat’s brand new trio is, the supporting staff simply doesn’t look up to snuff. Boston also has a talented trio itself; you know the one that won a championship a couple years back when first put together. The C’s really struggled at home throughout the regular season a year ago, so look for them to make a statement here and tally a scratch in the win column right out of the chute! – Slam the Celtics!

Phoenix Suns vs. Portland Trail Blazers
Game Date/Time: Tuesday, October 26th, 10:00 ET
Game Location: Rose Garden, Portland, OR
TV/Radio Broadcast: My45, KGW, Sirius, XM
NBA Odds: Phoenix Suns (+7.5) -110 vs. Portland Trail Blazers (-7.5) -110: Over/Under 201

The Phoenix Suns will open up their 2010-11 NBA sports betting campaign in hostile territory as they return to the scene of the crime where they crippled the Blazers by taking two of three games in these teams first round meeting of the playoffs a year ago. However, they do so without a key cog to the franchises success for a number of years as Amare Stoudemire has moved all the way to the east coast to suit up for the New York Knicks this season. With Portland almost back to full strength with a healthy Brandon Roy now back in the line-up, the Blazers will get off to a good start to their season and take it to a Phoenix squad that I look to majorly regress this season. Phoenix has struggled offensively with no pick and roll threat remaining, and they have nobody to compete with the Blazers on the glass. Look for a romp in the Rose Garden for the home team. – Slam the Trail Blazers!

Houston Rockets vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Game Date/Time: Tuesday, October 26th, 10:30 ET
Game Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
TV/Radio Broadcast: TNT, Sirius, XM
NBA Odds: Houston Rockets (+7) vs. Los Angeles Lakers (-7): Over/Under 196

The Rockets look to have a very interesting team at their disposal this NBA sports betting season. Besides having the depth most teams would trade a first round pick for, the roster is littered with some exceptional talents that made huge impacts throughout their collegiate careers. With the return of what everyone hopes is a healthy Yao Ming, the Rockets can play two styles of ball when the big man is on the hardwood or resting up on the bench. With a healthy Kevin Martin ready to go, the Rockets should be one of the more higher scoring teams in the league. We all know exactly what to expect from the defending champs as both Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol are back looking to secure the three-peat. That said; the Rockets battled the Lakers tough in their two early season meetings a year ago losing 103-102 in OT at home while scoring a 101-91 outright win in their first trip of the season to the Staples Center. With the Rockets looking to get back to the playoffs after a year hiatus, look for them to put forth a statement performance on opening night and give the Lakers a major run for their money. Slam the Rockets!

San Antonio Spurs vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
Free NBA Pick: Under (March 8th 2010 – Big Al McMordie)

At 7:05 pm, our complimentary selection is on the ‘under’ in the Spurs/Cavaliers game. On Friday night, this looked like a heckuva match-up on paper. The Spurs have just started to play their best basketball of the season, while the Cavaliers have been the league’s best team. But then, on Saturday, San Antonio’s 2nd leading scorer, point guard Tony Parker, broke a bone in his hand, and will miss the rest of the regular season. And coach Mike Brown decided to rest LeBron James against Milwaukee (in part because of a gimpy ankle), and the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that James may sit out tonight’s game vs. the Spurs as well. With all this star power (and fire power) on the sidelines tonight, the rotations will be a bit messed up, and I look for the offensive efficiency of each team to suffer a bit. After all, both teams run their offenses thru Parker and James. Let’s play on the Cavs and Spurs to sail ‘under’ the total tonight.
