Pick: Orlando Magic -4
If you are looking for a great value play on Friday, lock in the Orlando Magic -4 at home against the Los Angeles Lakers! The Lakers looked horrible on both sides of the floor in their loss to the Heat last night. They simply couldn’t match the energy of the Heat, which is pretty surprising considering the magnitude of that game. In my opinion the Lakers are a tired basketball team, and there is little reason to believe they are going to pick up the intensity against the Magic, especially playing in the second game of a back-to-back set on the road. Los Angeles has been a horrible team on the road this season. They are just 1-5 straight up and 1-5 ATS. Their only win came at Utah, a game in which they needed overtime. Orlando comes into the game off a 83-85 overtime loss to the Spurs at home. It was just the fourth loss of the season for Orlando. They have followed up their first three losses of the season by going out and winning the next time out, all by at least 7-points. Los Angeles is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record, and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a road underdog of 0.5-4.5. BET THE MAGIC! -Steve Janus

Pick: Philadelphia 76ers -6
The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the best teams in the league this season. Philly has opened 10-4 this year while going a very profitable 11-3 against the spread. They have been nearly unstoppable at home. The 76ers are 6-1 SU & 6-1 ATS at home this season, outscoring opponents by 19.1 points/game. This team has been tremendous following a loss this year, having yet to lose back-to-back games. Philly is 3-0 SU & 3-0 ATS in their last 3 following a loss, winning by 26.3 points/game. Atlanta is 4-3 on the road this year, but three of those wins came against New Jersey twice and Charlotte. This will be one of their toughest road tests yet. The 76ers are 8-0 ATS (+8.0 Units) when the total is between 180 and 189.5 points this season. Philly is 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games as a favorite. The 76ers are 33-16-2 ATS in their last 51 games playing on 1 days rest. Take Philadelphia and lay the points. -Black Widow

Pick: Memphis Grizzlies -4
The Memphis Grizzlies are showing solid value Friday as a mere 4-point road favorite over the lowly Detroit Pistons. Memphis continues to impressive after their playoff run last season, while Detroit remains a bottom feeder in this league. This one certainly has blowout written all over it tonight. Detroit is 3-12 SU & 4-11 ATS in all games this season. As you can see, they have made faders a lot of money this year already. The Pistons are only scoring 85.0 points/game this season on 42.5 percent shooting. They are giving up 94.7 points/game on 47.1 percent shooting, and getting outscored by 9.7 points/game. The Grizzlies come in red hot, putting together a 4-game winning streak with four straight wins by six points or more. What’s most impressive is that they are shooting 48.6 percent as a team during this stretch despite playing without Zach Randolph. Memphis is 3-0 SU & 3-0 ATS in their last 3 meetings with Detroit, winning each by six points or more. The Grizzlies are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a road favorite. Memphis is 22-6 ATS in their last 28 games as a favorite. The Grizzlies are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400. The Pistons are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games. Bet Memphis Friday. -Jack Jones

Pick: Los Angeles Clippers +11
As you all know, Oklahoma City has clinched a playoff spot while L.A. is out. These two teams met on Saturday with the Clipper’s beating the Thunder, 98-92. That victory gave Los Angeles 2 wins in the teams 3 meetings this season. It doesn’t look like OKC can improve on their playoff situation. The team seems to be in line to face Denver in the first round. Blake Griffin is from Oklahoma City. I expect the standout Forward to dazzle his hometown crowd tonight. Griffin and Guard Eric Gordon have had much success this year vs. the Thunder. Kevin Durant is leading the NBA in scoring with 27.8 PPG. However, against the Clipper’s, the Forward has averaged 20.0 PPG and 35% shooting. Laying DD’s is not something that OKC has been successful in doing as they are 1-3-1 ATS their L5 laying 10+ points. This is way too many pints to be giving to a Blake Griffin-led Clipper’s squad. L.A. is 10-2 ATS their L12 games played at OKC, 17-7 ATS their L24 overall vs. OKC, and 6-2 their L8 vs. teams with a winning record. OKC is 3-7-1 ATS their L11 vs. the West, 1-3-1 ATS their L5 at home, and 1-4 ATS their L5 vs. the Pacific. Take Los Angeles. Thank you. -Joseph D’Amico

Pick: Los Angeles Lakers -6.5
Golden St is 34-44 straight up this year. The Warriors are 3-7 ATS their last 10 games as underdogs. The Warriors and they are 0-4 ATS when playing with no rest. Golden St is 1-7 ATS their last their last 8 games following a straight win. The Warriors are 0-4 ATS their 4 games vs. NBA Pacific teams. The Lakers are 55-22 straight up this year. The Lakers are 15-5-1 ATS their last 21 road games vs. a team with winning home record. Kobe and company are 7-1 ATS their last 8 road games. The Lakers are 8-3 ATS their last 11 meetings at Golden St. The Lakers are 4-1 ATS when playing with no rest. PLAY ON LA LAKERS -Tom Freese. (Handicapperspicks.com)

NBA Pick: Suns vs. Lakers Under 2011
The Lakers are playing exceptional defense, riding an 8-2 run under the total. They have so much flashy offense that the public sees them as an uptempo offensive team, but their defense has been turning it up a notch the last month. The public also sees the Suns as a run-and-gun team, but oddsmakers have overvalued them, riding a 6-0 run under the total. The Under is 40-19 in the Lakers last 59 overall and the Under is 37-14 in the Lakers last 51 games playing on 1 days rest. Play the Suns/Lakers Under the total. -Jim Feist

NHL Pick: Colorado Avalanche +109
Columbus is 2-10 last 12 overall games. Colorado is 29-9 last 38 overall meetings in this series since 1996. Colorado is 16-3 at home vs Columbus since 1996. Blue Jackets are 52-112-6 in their last 170 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation. Blue Jackets are 4-9 in their last 13 games as a road favorite. Blue Jackets are 119-272-15 in their last 406 road games. Blue Jackets are 4-10 in their last 14 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. Blue Jackets are 2-7 in their last 9 Tuesday games. Blue Jackets are 1-4 in their last 5 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation. Blue Jackets are 3-14 in their last 17 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game. Blue Jackets are 1-5 in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. Blue Jackets are 2-10 in their last 12 overall. Blue Jackets are 1-6 in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest. Blue Jackets are 1-8 in their last 9 vs. Western Conference. Home team is 11-5 in the last 16 meetings. We’ll recommend a small play on Colorado tonight! Thanks and good luck, Rocky Atkinson

NCAAB Pick: Colorado Buffaloes -10
The Buffaloes have been dominant at home, where they are 17-2 this season with an average victory margin of 15.9 points. They have been nothing short of impressive in their first two home games in the NIT with wins of 14 and 17 points. Colorado has been at home in its comfort zone for a lengthy period of time while Kent State has had to travel to St. Mary’s and Fairfield. Winning a 3rd straight on the road figures to be too much to ask of the Golden Flashes, especially with only a day to prepare. Consider that Colorado is a perfect 6-0 ATS in home games after playing a home game under coach Boyle, winning these contests by an average of 20.0 points. The Golden Flashes are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog of 7.0-12.5 points while the Buffaloes are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite of 7.0-12.5 points. Colorado appears to have shaken off its NCAA tourney snub and has its sights set on an NIT title. We’ll lay the points. -Jimmy Boyd (Handicapperspicks.com)

Pick: Texas Tech +13.5
Texas Tech is 5-1 ATS at home vs Kansas since 1997. Jayhawks are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. Jayhawks are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 Tuesday games. Jayhawks are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win. Home team is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings. Jayhawks are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Texas Tech. Kansas is 0-3 SU at Texas Tech under coach Self. Last time Kansas played at Texas Tech they were 10 point road favorite and lost outright by 19 points. Texas Tech has won 3 games in a row against decent teams in Oklahoma State, Iowa State and Nebraska. We’ll recommend a small play on Texas Tech tonight! Thanks and good luck, Rocky Atkinson

Pick: Los Angeles Lakers -8.5
The Lakers have been getting hammered for not playing any defense of late, but the Rockets haven’t been playing it all season, allowing 105 ppg — 24th in the league. And Houston allows .469% shooting, ranked 23rd, with a lack of big men. The Lakers are off that embarrassing national TV loss to the Celtics allowing 60% shooting, so look for a bounce back effort under the glass against a small, soft team. The Rockets are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. the Western Conference and 7-20 ATS in their last 27 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Play the LA Lakers. -Jim Feist

Pick: San Antonio Spurs -5
Portland is 25-22 straight up this year. The Trailblazers are 2-6 ATS their last 8 home games and they are 3-7 ATS their last 10 games overall. The Blazers are 1-4 ATS following a double digit loss at home. Portland is 1-5 ATS when their opponent scores 100 or more points in their last game. San Antonio is 40-7 Straight Up this year. The Spurs are 19-7 ATS their 26 games following a double digit win. The Spurs are 7-2-1 ATS their last 10 games overall. San Antonio is 6-1 ATS their last 7 Conference games. The Spurs are 9-4 ATS their last 13 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. PLAY ON SAN ANTONIO -Tom Freese (Handicapperspicks.com)

Pick: Washington Wizards -1
It is fairly safe to assume that everyone is aware of the Wizards issues on the road this season. They are 0-20 away from home, the lone winless road team in the NBA. Washington has 12 more wins at home than on the road, which is the second largest margin in the NBA behind Denver’s 14-game disparity. The Wizards have won four straight games at home and since losing to Cleveland and Charlotte early in the season, the other six home losses have come against elite opposition. The Suns have put a very solid run together as they have won four straight games but I am still not sold on Phoenix. Prior to this winning streak, it went 3-11 in its previous 14 games and while some of that can be blamed on the recent trades which created a lot of turnover, the simple fact is this team is not as talented as it used to be. The Suns are four games under .500 on the road which isn’t horrible but they have not done well against the lesser teams, going just 3-5 ATS in games against teams with a losing record. Phoenix is coming off a win against Cleveland while covering by just a half-point. The Cavaliers fell behind by 17 points but made a massive comeback but simply ran out of gas to steal the game. They managed to turn what should have been an easy and rest-filled victory for the Suns’ starters into yet another game that the old Suns never would have let happened. The Suns have underperformed their talent level for most of the season and while playing better, they are nothing more than an average team. Wizards head coach Flip Saunders has been good at bouncing his team back, both here and in his other stops as his teams are 93-65 ATS coming off a double-digit road loss. You can argue that past history is meaningless with a brand new team but that argument can also be made against the fact that Phoenix has owned this series with eight straight wins including seven covers. The Suns were favored in every one of those games but now they are the underdog which shows how the gap has closed. 3* (812) Washington Wizards -Matt Fargo

Pick: Los Angeles Lakers -1
Denver has been great on its home floor (19-4) where it has already defeated the Lakers once this season. But I expect that loss, combined with a loss to Dallas in their last game, to be all the motivation the defending champs need to take care of business this evening. The numbers suggest this is a great time to back L.A. In fact, plays on all teams when the line is +3 to -3 off an upset loss, if they are a good team winning 60 to 75% of their games and playing a team with a winning record, are an impressive 163-105 ATS since 1996. This system tightens up to 64-36 ATS the last 5 seasons. Denver is coming off a SU and ATS win over Oklahoma City. This is precisely the time to go against the Nuggets. That’s because they are a pathetic 9-26-6 ATS in their last 41 games following an ATS victory.Expect Kobe Bryant and company to avenge their earlier season loss to Denver tonight. Take L.A. -Jimmy Boyd (Handicapperspicks.com)
