Prediction: Atlanta Braves -108
Atlanta is 58-41 overall this year while Cincinnati comes in with a 48-50 overall record this season. Cincinnati is 17-30 this year after a win. Atlanta is a decent 28-22 on the road this year. Atlanta bullpen has a 2.94 ERA overall this year and a 3.62 ERA on the road this season. Jair Jurrjens is 12-3 with a 2.26 ERA overall this year, 5-2 with a 1.96 ERA on the road this season and 2-0 with a 3.15 ERA his last 3 starts. Bronson Arroyo is 3-7 with a 5.35 ERA at home this year and 0-2 with an 8.66 ERA his last 3 starts. We’ll recommend a small play on Atlanta tonight! Thanks and good luck, Rocky Atkinson

Prediction: Tampa Bay Rays -102
The Rays enter their series at Kansas City with plenty of momentum on their side following a 2-1 win over the Yankees that earned them a series split. The Rays have won 13 of their last 18 meetings against the Royals, including 5 of their last 7 in Kansas City, and I expect their dominance in the matchup to continue. The Royals have gone down the last 4 times Hochevar has taken the ball in a series opener. They have also lost each of his 4 career starts against the Rays, during which he has posted an ERA of 10.00. After a good rehab outing and a strong bullpen session this week, Davis is ready to return to the rotation. The Rays have won both of his starts against the Royals, during which he has posted an ERA of just 1.29. The Rays are 13-5 in Davis’ last 18 road starts and 12-1 in his last 13 road starts vs. a team with a losing record. Take Tampa. -Jimmy Boyd

Prediction: San Diego Padres +175
The San Diego Padres are going to be busy by the phone over the coming weeks as they will be fielding calls about their talented pitchers as the contenders try and bulk up for the stretch drive. The Padres have won their last three games in a row. The Padres pitching staff has a team ERA of 3.20 with the starters at 3.41 and the bullpen at 2.80. For game one against the Phillies San Diego starts Cary Luebke who has won two of his last three starts and has allowed four runs total over that span. For the season Luebke has allowed 36 hits and 18 earned runs while strikingout 69 in 63 innings of work. TAKE SAN DIEGO PLUS -Bob Wingerter (Handicapperspicks.com)

Prediction: Dodgers vs. Giants Under 6.5
Both pitchers is solid form. Both bullpens have unreal recent numbers. Last 3 games the Dodgers bullpen has a 1.96 ERA and the Giants a 1.21 ERA in their last 3 games. Vogelsong for the Giants has given up 38 hits in 51 innings of work at home on the YEAR and has just 1.21 ERA there. Unreal numbers. Billingsley for LA has under a 3 ERA on the road this year and he has been stellar in his last 3 outings. Add all this up, and considering the Giants are 24-9-1 on UNDERS intheir last 34 at home, and this is a 2-1 or 3-2 type ballgame tonight. Hits and runs will be at a Premium tonight in this one! -Tony George

Prediction: Washington Nationals -109
Play on Washington at 8:05 ET. It’s never too tough a decision to go against the Astros, who were 7-5 losers yesterday here at home to Pittsburgh. Houston is now 15-35 at home this season and 17-49 vs. righties. They are 8-31 at home when the total is 8 or 8.5. Nationals starter Jason Marquis has been a solid money maker this season with a 12-6 team start record with many of those wins in the underdog role. 10* Play on Washington (w/ Marquis). -Tom Freese

Prediction: Braves vs. Rockies Under 9.5
The Rockies are 0-14 Under after a loss in which they drew five or more walks and it is the first game of a series for a profit of +1400 when playing the under. Atlanta is 21-48 Under (+23.5 Units) after 3 consecutive games versus a division rival the last 2 seasons. Play tonight’s game Under as a TWO-Star Selection. -Robbie Gainous (Handicapperspicks.com)

Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers +104
The Los Angeles Dodgers have the better starter on the mound tonight, and we’ll side with them in this crosstown rivalry because of it. Hiroki Kuroda has posted a 3.10 ERA in 16 starts, a 2.80 ERA in seven road starts, and a 1.96 ERA in his last three starts. He remains one of the more underrated starters in the business. The Dodgers have been at their best on the road this year. The Dodgers are hitting .280 and scoring 4.8 runs/game on the road this year, while the Angels are hitting .243 and scoring 3.3 runs/game at home. Not only do the Dodgers have the better starter, but they also have the better lineup. The Angels are 5-11 in their last 16 home games vs. a team with a losing record. Take the Dodgers on the Money Line. -Black Widow

Pick: Tampa Bay Rays -135
The Cards are just 1-5 in their last 6 series openers and 1-7 in their last 8 games versus a team with a winning record. They’ll have a tough time bucking these trends with the way Wade Davis has been pitching for Tampa. He’s 3-0 with an ERA of 2.84 over his last 3 starts and 2-0 with an ERA of 1.38 in 2 interleague starts. St. Louis scheduled starter Jake Westbrook, meanwhile, is 0-1 (1-2 on the ML) with an ERA of 6.61 over his last 3 starts. We’ll bet the Rays. -Dave Price

Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks -104
The normal play is on the home team over the weekend, but the Diamondbacks should have the clear edge in Friday nights matchup against the A’s. Arizona starter Josh Collmenter has struggled in his last three starts, but if there is an offense to face to get back on track, its the Athletics. The A’s are averaging just 3.5 runs a game this season and just 3.2 against right-handed starters. Arizona on the other hand is averaging 4.5 runs a game this season, and will only benefit from having an extra bat in the lineup playing in the AL. Oakland will send Rich Harden to the mound to make his first start of the season, and rarely will a pitcher just come out and throw like he has in the past after such a long layoff. -Info Plays (Handicapperspicks.com)

Pick: Boston Red Sox -178
On Saturday the free Play is on the Boston Redsox. Game 956 at 7:10 eastern. Boston is on a major run having won 11 of their last 12. They have won 26 of 32 vs winning teams and 14 of 21 off 3 or more wins. They are averaging 7.4 runs the past week and over 8 runs in Inter league play. The Brewers are just 3-16 off back to back losses by 4 or more runs. The Pitching pits Lester vs Wolf which is an additional advantage for Boston. Look for the Redsox to take Game two. On Saturday I have 3 Big Inter league system Plays one is 100% Perfect the other cashes at 94%. I also have a 92% Power System Side. MLB Top play cashes with Seattle and Bases on a 17-6 run. Jump on and cash out on Saturday. For the free play take Boston. -Rob Vinciletti

Pick: Florida Marlins +129
The Marlins, whose 129 interleague wins are the most of any NL team, are worth a small wager at this price against a Tampa Bay club that has dropped six of its last 10 interleague home games. The Rays took the series opener but are only 3-11 in their last 14 games following a win. Plus, Florida’s Ricky Nolasco, who is 4-1 on the ML on the road this season, is due for a strong outing. The Marlins are 36-15 in Nolasco’s last 51 road starts and 7-2 in his last 9 starts as a road underdog. We’ll take the Marlins. -Dave Price

Pick: Minnesota Twins -137
Look for the Twins to continue their winning ways this evening against the struggling Padres. Minnesota has won 5 in a row and 12 of its last 14 while San Diego has dropped 6 of its last 7. Plus, Minnesota has performed much better than San Diego in interleague play. The Twins are 37-16 in their last 53 interleague home games and 38-15 in their last 53 interleague games as a favorite. The Padres are just 16-35 in their last 51 interleague games and 9-25 in their last 34 interleague games as an underdog. Baker and Stauffer are both having solid seasons but Baker gets the nod in this spot as the Twins are 35-16 in his last 51 starts as a favorite of -110 to -150. Plus, Minnesota is swinging the hotter sticks right now. Take the Twins. -Jimmy Boyd (Handicapperspicks.com)

Prediction: Cubs vs. Dodgers Over 7.5
The Dodgers are due for a strong offensive performance and should be able to come through with one against Cubs southpaw starter James Russell, who’s 0-3 with an ERA of 11.17. The Dodgers have done their most damage against lefty starters this season, hitting .280 and scoring 4.6 runs per game off of them. The Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw has struggled over his last 3 starts, during which he’s posted an ERA of 5.78. His struggles are likely to continue against the Cubs, who are batting .293 and scoring 5.4 runs per game against lefty starting pitchers. When matched up, the Cubs and Dodgers have combined to go over this number in 3 straight and 5 of their last 6 meetings. Take the Over tonight. -Jeff Alexander

Prediction: New York Yankees +122
Doc’s Sports COMP Pick: Monday May 2nd 2011- Take #917 New York Yankees over Detroit (7:05pm est): Always looking for a good solid underdog in MLB and feel I have one here. Not many times throughout the year you can get the New York Yankees in this type of price range. In fact the Yankees have been favored in every game this year outside of two contests against the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees come in as one of the best offenses in baseball. They have beat up on right-handers their year, going 8-3 their last eleven games against them. The Tigers come in having lost six straight games overall and five straight against a right-hand starter. They go up against Yankees starter Bartolo Colon in this one. Colon looks like he may have found the fountain of youth with back to back quality starts. In those starts Colon has looked very good, striking out 13 while walking just 3 hitters. The Tigers have only won two of Verlander’s starts this season in six games overall. Chance to grab one of the best offense’s in baseball at a plus price against a team really struggling these days. Take the Yankees here. -Doc’s Sports

Prediction: San Francisco Giants -104
The Giants will be motivated to salvage a split in their four game series against the Nationals, and we think their is some solid value at -104. Giants starter Madison Bumgarner has struggled in 2011, but is coming off a solid start against the Pirates where he held Pittsburgh to one run on five hits. Bumgarner has started against the Nationals once, allowing just one run on seven hits. Nationals starter Tom Gorzelanny has pitched well with a 2.60 ERA in his last three starts, but he is 0-2 on the season and is 3-14 against the money line after a win over the last 2 seasons. The Giants are 22-11 against the money line after 10 straight games where they failed to hit more than one HR over the last 3 seasons, and are 13-6 against the money line in road games after batting .225 or worse over a 15 game span since 1997. -Info Plays (Handicapperspicks.com)

Philadelphia Phillies vs. San Francisco Giants Pick & Odds: October 21st 2010

PHILLIES VS. GIANTS PICKThe heat has officially been turned up in baseball betting action for the Philadelphia Phillies. Trailing three games to one in the National League Championship Series, they are going to face three straight do or die games to try to defend their back to back National League pennants. The San Francisco Giants stand in their way, starting in Game 5 on Thursday night.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. San Francisco Giants
Game Date/Time: Thursday, October 21st, 7:57 ET
Game Location: AT&T Park, San Francisco, CA
TV/Radio Broadcast: Fox, XM

MLB Odds: Philadelphia Phillies (Roy Halladay – R) -120 -1.5 +140 vs. San Francisco Giants (Tim Lincecum – R) +110 +1.5 -160: Over/Under 5.5 o-125 5.5 u+105

In his first ever postseason appearance, Roy Halladay pitched the second ever no hitter in the history of playoff baseball. In his second ever postseason appearance, he looked awfully mortal.

Halladay allowed four runs on eight hits in seven innings of work in the 4-3 loss at home in Game 1 of this series, and he was largely outpitched by Tim Lincecum on the day.

Halladay did fan seven batters along the way and inevitably will get his K’s once again on Thursday, but things just don’t seem quite right for a man that has never beaten the Giants in a baseball betting contest.

For the Giants, they’re living large right now, knowing that they are just one more baseball betting victory away from the Fall Classic, but they certainly don’t want to have to turn around this weekend and play one, if not two games in the City of Brotherly Love once again.

Lincecum has been marvelous in these playoffs for the Giants, as he is 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA in spite of the fact that he has only gotten five runs of support. Against Philly, Lincecum has now won three times in eight starts and has only been beaten once. This year alone in two starts, the righty has 19 strikeouts and has only allowed five runs in 15.1 innings of work.

Lincecum has now gone eight straight starts with allowing three or fewer runs, and he has pitched at least seven frames in all but two of those eight outings.

MLB Insider Tip: The Giants are 6-2 in their L/8 postseason games at home in baseball betting action.

As much as we love Halladay, we just can’t go there on the road. He has already thrown almost 270 innings this season, and his arm has to be showing signs of getting incredibly tired after all of these seasons of hard labor. He has never pitched this deep into a season before and has never been in this type of a do or die situation. There is just no pressure at all for a San Fran team that feels like it is on top of the world right now.

The Giants will use this baseball betting affair on Thursday to bounce the Phils.
