MIAMI OHIO VS. AKRON PREDICTIONThe Miami Ohio Redhawks invade Infocision Stadium looking to keep their faint MAC East title hopes alive in a college football picks battle with the division rival Akron Zips; kick-off is set for 6:00 ET with live TV coverage on ESPNU.

Miami Ohio Redhawks vs. Akron Zips
Game Date/Time: Wednesday, November 17th, 6:00 ET
Game Location: Infocision Stadium, Akron, OH
TV/Radio Broadcast: ESPNU
NCAA Football Betting Odds: Miami Ohio Redhawks (-9.5) -110 vs. Akron Zips (+9.5) -110: Over/Under 48

The Redhawks did exactly what they had to do a week ago to remain in the running for the MAC East title by going into Bowling Green and handing the Falcons a 24-21 home defeat. The win moved them to 5-1 in conference play with college football picks victories over Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Central Michigan, and Buffalo; the three-point win over BG just barely covered the 2.5-point closing spread.

Unfortunately, they’ll take to the artificial turf at Infocision Stadium for the first time ever knowing they’re really up against it now with Ohio scoring the shocking upset of the Temple Owls last night. Because the Redhawks lone MAC defeat came at the hands of the Bobcats, they now need to win their remaining two games and hope Ohio somehow manages to stumble in their season finale at Kent State.

With the possibility there that it could happen, it might not matter in the long run simply because of a spleen that was lacerated in last week’s game at Bowling Green. That’s right, that organ as big as a fist under the left side of Zac Dysert’s ribcage was torn when he dove across the goal line to put the Redhawks up 14-7 midway through the 2nd quarter. He has been ruled out the rest of the regular season, but could return if the Redhawks go bowling.

Then there’s the Akron Zips; the 0-10 Akron Zips! Not the way head coach Rob Ianello envisioned his first go round in charge of Akron’s program. The Zips are the only team in the Football Bowl Subdivision to have not tallied a victory this season; the 0-10 mark also tied the 2004 team for the worst start in school history. They’ve also stunk it up as a college football picks investment as well posting a 3-7 mark ATS to date.

It’s been pretty rough for fans of the Zips to come out and support this team as their worst defeats of the season have taken place on their own turf. Their 0-4 home mark saw them lose 29-3 to Syracuse, 38-37 to Gardener Webb (FCS), 50-14 to Northern Illinois, and 56-10 to Western Michigan. So, in four home games played, the Zips have lost by an average final score of 43-16; not good!

NCAA Football Insider Tip: Before blindly making college football picks on the Redhawks due to the Akron Zips pathetic overall and home records this season, know that the Zips have covered each of the L/2 meetings with Miami (OH) winning 24-13 as eight-point favorites in 2008 and losing 7-0 in last year’s meeting as 7.5-point underdogs.

Though Akron sports one of the worst overall defenses in the country (#115 at 38.8 PPG), Miami OH’s offense has struggled to produce points all season long (#103 at 19.9 PPG). The absence of their field general will only make it that much harder for the visitors to put points on the board.

The Redhawks have made for very poor college football betting picks when in the favorite role having gone 1-9 ATS the L/10 times they went off the board as one in the 3.5-10 point range. The Zips are also a rock solid 8-2 ATS their L/10 games when playing off a bye. Look for the home team to put forth one of its best efforts of the year under the primetime lights, and possibly pull out the outright win!

Buffalo Bulls vs. Ohio Bobcats
Game Date/Time: Thursday, November 4th, 7:30 ET
Game Location: Peden Stadium, Athens, OH
TV/Radio Broadcast: ESPNU
NCAA Football Odds: Buffalo Bulls (+16) -110 vs. Ohio Bobcats (-16) -110: Over/Under 45

The 2008 season must feel like it occurred a decade ago for the Bulls program who have limped towards a 7-13 SU record since, which includes this year’s 2-6 record both SU and in sports betting action. A trip to a bowl game is certainly out of the question at this point of the season, but that doesn’t mean Buffalo won’t be getting up to play the role of spoiler throughout the remainder of it.Head coach Jeff Quinn’s kids haven’t felt the thrill of victory since going into Bowling Green back on October 2nd and scoring the 28-26 outright road win and sports betting cover as 2.5-point underdogs. They’ve dropped three straight since getting pounded by Northern Illinois, Temple, and Miami, OH. You’ll notice, all three of those opponents are in the running to get to the MAC Championship Game this season; the Bobcats will make it four in a row.

Ohio enters this Tuesday night ESPNU tussle on fire having rattled off five straight wins. It currently sits tied atop the MAC East standings along with the Temple Owls at 4-1 overall. They just had their five-game ATS winning streak snapped last week at home against the Ragin’ Cajuns of Louisiana whom they only toppled 38-31 as lofty 17-point sports betting favorites. Still, head coach Frank Solich’s outfit stands a solid 4-1 SU & 3-2 ATS in five home games with the lone loss coming against a Toledo squad back in Week 2 right after the Rockets got trashed at home by the Arizona Wildcats the week before. With the big game scheduled to go against Temple next week in what looks to be the game for all the MAC East marbles, it will be interesting to see if they can avoid the look ahead and get up in this spot.

NCAA Football Insider Tip: The road team has scored outright victories each of the L/2 times these division rivals met on the gridiron. Ohio turned the trick a year ago winning 27-24 as 1.5-point UB Stadium underdogs, but the Bulls laid the smack down in their most recent trip to Peden Stadium winning 32-19 as 1.5-point pups. The underdog has actually cashed in three straight times in this series, but this one closely resembles the last time Ohio went off the board as a double-digit chalk winning 42-7 as 17.5-point favorites back in 2006.Also pointing the way of the home team is the fact that they’ve rattled off sports betting covers in 13 of their L/16 MAC tussles and in six of the L/7 times they were installed favorites of 10.5-points or more. While the Bobcats look to be the on the lesser tier of the MAC Championship contenders, Solich gets his kids ready to close out seasons as they’re a perfect 5-0 ATS their L/5 November contests.

Look for Bobcats to land the perfectly placed death blow upon the Bulls and then turn their attention towards the huge one with Temple in 12 days.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL TEASER PICKS - OCTOBER 30TH 2010College football betting teasers always a great way to get an edge on the oddsmakers if a line is tight. Our NCAA football betting Super Teaser should be striking back with vengeance in Week 9 after any iffy showing last week.

Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Arkansas Razorbacks
Game Date/Time: Saturday, October 30th, 7:00 ET: Game Location: Razorback Stadium, Fayetteville, AR: TV/Radio Broadcast: ESPN Game Plan, ESPN3.com, Sirius; NCAA Football Odds: Vanderbilt Commodores (+20.5) -110 vs. Arkansas Razorbacks (-20.5) -110: Over/Under 54.5

This NCAA football betting affair should be an easy one to make a call on. Sure, giving the Commodores 30.5 points of leeway would be quite a bit, but Ryan Mallett still has his NFL Draft stock to improve. The ‘Dores really haven’t played that well this year, particularly on the road, and we don’t think that they stand even a remote chance of keeping this one interesting in Fayetteville against one of the best teams in the country that you haven’t heard much about since losing to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Arizona Wildcats vs. UCLA Bruins
Game Date/Time: Saturday, October 30th, 3:30 ET: Game Location: Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA: TV/Radio Broadcast: Local TV, Sirius: NCAA Football Odds: Arizona Wildcats (-9.5) -110 vs. UCLA Bruins (+9.5) -110: Over/Under 49.5

The bottom line in this NCAA football betting affair is that the Bruins have to get lucky to win this one. They just haven’t played well, save for two games this season, and in those two games they hurt two quarterbacks and snuck up on the most bi-polar teams in the country. Now, Richard Brehaut is the only quarterback that isn’t being redshirted this year on the roster that is healthy. Nick Foles might be back, but regardless of whether he is or not, we have no doubt that the Cats are getting out of Pasadena with a ‘W’.

TCU Horned Frogs vs. UNLV Rebels
Game Date/Time: Saturday, October 30th, 11:00 ET: Game Location: Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas, NV: TV/Radio Broadcast: Local TV, Sirius: NCAA Football Odds: TCU Horned Frogs (-35) -110 vs. UNLV Rebels (+35) -110: Over/Under 54.5

Do we have a death wish here betting against the Horned Frogs in NCAA football betting action? Hear us out. TCU is great. We know this. However, this is a team that hasn’t necessarily proven offensively that it is going to be capable of hanging this type of number on the board on a regular basis. Now, we’ll add in the fact that the trip to Salt Lake City against the Utah Utes is on deck as well… Hmmm…. UNLV isn’t a great team, but with a new head coach in place and no big victories yet to speak of, this game is the equivalent of their Super Bowl. No, the Rebs aren’t winning, but they should stick within 45 points… right?

Florida State Seminoles vs. North Carolina State Wolfpack Prediction: October 28th 2010

SEMINOLES VS. WOLFPACK PREDICTIONA huge sports betting ACC tussle will be served up on ESPN Thursday night when the Florida State Seminoles and NC State Wolfpack look to settle a score that could make a cloudy ACC Atlantic Division all the more clearer.

Florida State Seminoles vs. North Carolina State Wolfpack
Game Date/Time: Thursday, October 28th, 7:30 ET
Game Location: Carter-Finley Stadium, Raleigh, NC
TV/Radio Broadcast: ESPN, ESPN3, Sirius, XM
NCAA Football Odds: Florida State Seminoles (-3.5) -110 vs. NC State Wolfpack (+3.5) -110: Over/Under 59

With only a divisional win under its belt against what’s proven to be a woeful Boston College Eagles outfit, Thursday night’s home battle with the Seminoles doesn’t get any bigger for head coach Tom O’Brien’s Wolfpack.

With a tough home loss to VTECH already in the books and coming off a debilitating OT loss on the road to the East Carolina Pirates, you can bet your bottom dollar the Wolfpack have worked very hard throughout their bye to rectify what’s plagued them of late. That said; it still might not be enough for this young squad to get over the hump against what looks to be a Seminoles outfit bound for the ACC Championship Game.

Since getting steamrolled in Norman by the Oklahoma Sooners, head coach Jimbo Fisher’s Noles have run roughshod over four of their L/5 opponents with only a poor outing to show the week heading into their bye at home against Boston College.

What’s really turned FSU’s sports betting fortunes around since the late stages of the Bowden and Andrews era has been the excelled play of the defense. Once again, Florida State is getting after opposing QBs already acquiring 30 sacks through seven games to average nearly 4.5 sacks per game. With the Wolfpack O-Line giving up an average of 2.43 per game, it could be lights out for Russell Wilson if he doesn’t watch his back tonight.

On top of the big time QB pressure the Noles constantly get, the stop unit is sound in defending both the pass and even more so the run. FSU has given up an average of 203.3 YPG through the air (#49) and a miniscule 104.9 YPG on the ground (#17).

With NC State managing just 136.3 YPG on the ground to date (#83), it will be entirely up to Wilson to move his offense through the air considering his offense currently ranks out as the nation’s 7th best passing attack (312.6 YPG). However, he’s been very careless with the pigskin of late throwing a whopping nine interceptions in the Wolfpack’s L/4 sports betting tussles. With what will undoubtedly be constant pressure on him all night long, it will be interesting to see if he can avoid throwing it to a defender clad in garnet and gold.

NCAA Football Insider Tip: Though NC State has flat out dominated the pointspread proceedings in this series covering eight of the L/9 overall meetings, this is the lowest the number has ever been in the respective programs 15 all time meetings on the gridiron. For that reason alone, the value resides with the Noles who have come out on top in all but five of those meetings.

On top of that, the Noles are 11-5-1 the L/17 times they played off an ATS defeat and 4-0 SU & 3-1 ATS the L/4 times they played off a bye. With three of their final four regular season games to be played at the Doak following this game, FSU knows a trip to the ACC Championship Game will all but be assured if it puts its best foot forward and creams a potential road block in the Wolfpack this evening.

While NC State has a nice squad this season, it’s far from the BCS material the Noles currently look to be. FSU used to thrive in these spots in the glory days, and this will be Coach Fisher’s first appearance as the head man in Tallahassee in front of a national TV audience. Look for him and the Seminoles to impress as they silence what’s certain to be a raucous Carter-Finley Stadium en route to the decisive road win and sports betting cover.

Ohio State vs. Illinois Prediction & Odds: October 2nd 2010

BetUS.com’s analysis of NCAA football betting action continues with a Week 4 fight this Saturday, as we make our college football picks in the game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Illinois Fighting Illini.

Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Illinois Fighting Illini
Game Date/Time: Saturday, October 2nd, 12:00 ET
Game Location: Memorial Stadium, Champaign, IL
TV/Radio Broadcast: Big Ten Network, Sirius

NCAA Football Odds: Ohio State Buckeyes (-16.5) -110 vs. Illinois Fighting Illini (+16.5) -110: Over/Under 50.5

The Buckeyes are going to be playing their first road game of the season, which could hurt them in the quest to move to 5-0 SU, 5-0 ATS, and 5-0 for ‘overs’ on the year. This has been one of the most consistent teams for college football picks thanks to a stifling defense which has allowed just four offensive TDs on the season and the play of a potential Heisman Trophy winner.

Terrelle Pryor continues to do it all for the Buckeyes. He still leads the team in both rushing and passing and doesn’t look to be giving up the reins to either title any time in the near future. Last week, he went 21-of-26 and threw four scores in a nearly perfect game against the Eastern Michigan Eagles, which only further cemented him as a mortal lock as a Heisman finalist.

On the other side of the ball though, the Illini are going to make for difficult college football picks as well. It’s tough backing a true freshman at quarterback in this situation. Nathan Scheelhaase has never seen this type of athleticism on defense in his career, and though he has gone up against some quality foes already, we can’t help but think that he is going to be crippled by this ‘D’.

Mikel LeShoure is averaging almost 140 yards per game on the ground this year, and he is going to be the safety valve for Scheelhaase to use this entire game. If the Illini are smart and want to make winners out of their college football picks, they’ll be content to not give up the big plays and turn the ball over. If they do, this will be one very long game.

NCAA Football Insider Tip: For successful college football picks, remember the fact that the Buckeyes are 9-1 ATS in their L/10 against teams with a winning road record and 21-5 ATS in their L/26 away from the Horseshoe.

This is a tough number for a team to beat in its first road game, but we tend to think that the Buckeyes are up to the task. Ohio State just has superior athletes on the field, and we wonder whether Scheelhaase will fold up under pressure once the Illini fall behind.

Ohio State is the subject of our college football picks on Saturday.

Texas A&M Aggies vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Game Date/Time: Thursday, September 30th, 7:30 ET
Game Location: Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater, OK
TV/Radio Broadcast: ESPN, XM, Sirius

NCAA Football Odds: Texas A&M Aggies (+3) -110 VS. Oklahoma State Cowboys (-3) -110: Over/Under 66

If you’re a fan of offensive fireworks on the college gridiron, then Thursday night’s battle between the Aggies and Cowboys is one you surely don’t want to miss! Both clubs enter this spot ranked amongst the top 10 in total yards gained with Texas A&M churning out 501.3 YPG (#9) and Oklahoma State leading the country amassing an insane 596 YPG.

Granted, the opposition has been far from top notch, but those are some pretty gaudy numbers to kick start the 2010-11 college football pick season. Both clubs were on byes a week ago, so the offensive machines should be firing on all cylinders for this divisional tussle.

A&M signal caller Jerrod Johnson has gotten off to a great start for head coach Mike Sherman’s offense. The senior has already thrown for 865 yards averaging 7.94 YPP with a TD/INT ratio of 7:4. His dual threat ability has also seen him gain 60 yards and hit pay dirt once.

He had a miserable performance his last time out at home against Florida International whom he completed just 35.4 percent of his 31 passes against while getting picked off four times. Look for the team captain and heart and soul of the program to rebound in a big way under the bright lights of Stillwater.

The Cowboys have struggled defending the pass entering this Week 5 college football pick match-up ranked 83 rd overall allowing 237 YPG. Most of the damage coming in the form of the Troy Trojans and Tulsa Golden Hurricane who both also rank in the Top 15 in total offense.

With the Texas A&M Aggies boasting a pair of backs in Christine Michael and Cyrus Gray averaging 5.8 YPC and 4.9 YPC respectively, A&M holds a distinct advantage when matched up against the Cowboys stop unit. It will be up to them to believe, perform and not turn the ball over to continue lighting the scoreboard up.

Though Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden and running back Kendall Hunter have also gotten off to fantastic starts, the duo is yet to go up against a defense with a pulse. Washington State, Troy, and Tulsa all rank amongst the worst scoring and overall defenses in the country. The Aggies currently rank 18 th in points allowed (14.3 PPG) and 10 th in total yards allowed (255.7 YPG); by far the stiffest opposition to date.

NCAA Football Insider Tip : Entering its bye, the kids form College Station got a major wake-up call from a little known FIU Golden Panthers squad. A&M found itself down 14 in the 4 th quarter but found a way to rattle off 21 straight points to pull out the must have 27-20 victory. The club has faced adversity and come back to win. While the Oklahoma State Cowboys did get a scare from Troy, Gundy’s kids had the game well in hand in the 4 th quarter. It hasn’t experienced the pressure packed situation of having to come up with the big play to win a game.

On top of that, A&M is playing with double revenge after falling to the Cowpokes each of the L/2 times including last year’s 36-31 defeat as 4.5-point home pups.

With both Texas and Oklahoma looking to be much lesser versions than in years past, this could just be the year the home of the 12 th Man comes out in full force and takes down the Big 12 South in surprising fashion. For that to happen, they’ll need to secure the college football pick win as underdogs – that’s exactly what I expect them to do tonight!

My NCAA Football Predictions: Texas A&M Aggies (+3) -110
