Pick: Ravens vs. Steelers Under 37.5
Defense has stolen the show when the Ravens and Steelers have faced off in recent years. In two meetings in 2010 we have seen combined scores of 31 and 23 points respectively. In fact, we have seen 37 or fewer total points scored in 5 of the last 6 meetings between these AFC North rivals. Besides the fact that the Ravens and Steelers possess some of the most talented defensive players in the league, these teams also benefit from knowing each other extremely well. It’s the kind of familiarity that only comes with seeing a team at least twice a year for well over a decade.

In fact, Baltimore is 9-2-1 Under against division opponents over the last 2 seasons. We are only seeing an average of 29.9 total points scored in these contests. Both teams enter this contest having played to the Under in 5 of their last 7 games overall. It is also worth noting that the Under is 11-4-1 in Baltimore’s last 16 road games and 6-2 in its last 8 playoff games. In addition, plays Under on any team when the total is between 35.5 and 42 points (Steelers in this case) after outgaining its last opponent by 150 or more total yards and going up against a foe that outgained its last opponent by 200 or more total yards, are 31-7 since 1983. We are seeing an average of just 35.6 total points scored in this situation. Bet the Under. -Jimmy Boyd

Pick: Jets vs. Patriots Over 44.5
New England has rolled through their opponents the final 8 weeks of the NFL season, posting an 8-0 SU record while scoring 31 points or more in ALL 8 of those victories. The Patriots avergaed 37.4 points per game during that 8 game winning streak and those impressive offensive numbers came against 6 teams that made the Playoffs, including this Jets squad, which they defeated 45-3. New England’s powerful offense has forced 13 of their 16 games to go “Over” the Total this season, and we’re looking for the postseason to be no different, as these Jets have posted a 10-1 (Over/Under) record this year against defensive units allowing a 61% or better completion percentage. -Carlo Campanella

Pick: Packers vs. Falcons over 43
On Saturday we get the first of the NFC conference matchups. The Green Bay Packers 10-6 SU, 9-7 ATS vs. Atlanta Falcons 13-3 SU, 11-5 ATS. Love this line, love this potential GREAT game. Green Bay was a 21-16 winner in its last match on the road against the Eagles, Atlanta was a 31-10 winner in its last match at home against the Panthers. Both these teams have high powered offenses, only difference is we’re still not 100% sure GB can control the ball, while we know Atlanta can and will with Turner. This will be a rematch of Week 12, when Atlanta eked out a 20-17 home victory on Matt Bryant’s 47-yard field goal with 9 seconds to play. I don’t see this game following the same pattern as that one, as GB is just more balanced this time around and present a lot more matchup problems. Some supporting trends that point me to bet the OVER in this one. Over is 7-2-2 in ATL last 11 games overall. Over is 5-2-2 in ATL last 9 vs. NFC. The total has gone OVER in 5 of Green Bay’s last 7 games when playing Atlanta. Sharps are going to be all over this line fella’s. This line opened at 45.5. Bet it now while its at 43, or 43.5. -Ray Monohan (Handicapperspicks.com)
